So is McIlroy just a sh’t player these days Sheriff? Seems like he hasn’t been relevant in years, not that I pay much attention to golf but there was a time you couldn’t avoid the guy if you were online

Golf is a very form related game....you can be in the zone for weeks & then inexplicably it goes...id compare it to snooker as an example

The game has massively moved on in recent years, guys are real athletes now, equipment is so advanced too, and there is a plethora of young stars coming through year on year, & so many are capable of winning a major at an early stage- but then burning out

Danny Willets won a major (Masters) two years ago or more, then failed to make the cut for about 20 comps after that

Rory just got caught up emotionally on day one I suspect on his home course, he shot 6 under yesterday but too late to make the cut, - still a world class player on any day

Well everyone was super high on Spieth a couple of years ago when I last watched anything

yep...was unbeatable for ages he was ridiculuosly good for 18 months

It's currently Brooks Koepka - winner of two back to back majors US open & US PGA....even the likes of Woods & Nicholson didn't do that...
