"Lampard finishes by saying how great it is there will be a female referee tomorrow, adding it shows how far the game has come on."

Azpi & Pedro...

"Azpi says we have to regroup as a team and work hard following the result at Old Trafford. He reiterates there were plenty of positives to take from the game."

Pedro: 'It will be a difficult game because Liverpool is a good team with strong players. We need to read the game well, stay compact and take our chances if we want to win.'

Azpi: 'This is a European trophy and there are not many opportunities to play this game. We lost in 2012 and 2013 so hopefully this year we can win it because we know it's an important trophy.'

Maybe Frank should try AC as left CB and Zouma right against Liverpool. See if that makes a difference.

Frank: "With Mason Mount, I don’t like to compare, particularly with myself, I can talk about him myself and he has a great work ethic and it’s important about how we want to play. Scoring goals he will step up levels as he develops, I’m a huge fan of his."

Love the belief & pressure.
Empower them...reap the rewards.

Azpi is asked about the impact of Tammy Abraham this season: 'I have known him for a long time from the Academy and he has improved a lot. He made a big impact at Villa and he deserves to be here. We need to keep encouraging him because the only way he will go is up.'

"Pedro says the motivation to win trophies at Chelsea remains high and he's happy to be in another final. He has won the Super Cup three times before and is hoping to add another title to his collection tomorrow."

Make that four tomorrow

Safe to say Bill will make his Chelsea first-team debut at some point in the season (near the end probably, if he's not loaned out), along with Tino.

https://www.fifa.com/about-fifa/who-we-are/news/manchester-city-football-club-sanctioned-for-international-transfers-of-minors

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned English club Manchester City FC for breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.

Manchester City FC was found to have breached, amongst others, article 19 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.

The Disciplinary Committee took into account the fact that Manchester City FC accepted its responsibility and sanctioned the club with a fine of CHF 370,000.

The protection of minors is a key element in FIFA’s overall regulatory framework relating to the transfer of players, and the effective enforcement of these rules is paramount, as has also been confirmed on various occasions by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The decision issued by the Disciplinary Committee was notified today.

Not really

We had 92 transfers investigated and were found guilty in 29 cases.

City had 8 transfers investigated and were found guilty in 2 cases.

On the other hand we got a harsher punishment than Atletico Madrid who had over 100 breaches. As they got a two window ban but their ban was suspended whilst under appeal.

As I understand FIFA rejecting our appeal was a change in tact from them, to try and prevent clubs mitigating punishment of a ban by just appealing as soon as a ban is given allowing them to sort themselves out. It’s bit annoying but 🤷🏿‍♂️

The Fifa findings should not be confused with Uefa’s investigation into alleged FFP breaches by #mcfc (or separate investigations by PL & FA). They’re still ongoing

this makes a bit more sense

Also we didn't apply to have our ban suspended while under appeal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That was in reference to the FIFA appeal not the CAS appeal. And I'd also argue that Chelsea not asking CAS for a stay was influenced by FIFA treating us more harshly to begin with and therefore the club feared more recriminations if our appeal was rejected by CAS.

To answer your first point Atletico were actually found guilty by FIFA of breaching more regulations than we did.

And the precedent idea falls flat because Barca were sanctioned by FIFA before Atletico for the same offence. But neither Atletico nor Real (who were banned at the same time) were treated more harshly for this precedent.

Apparently the Mirror contacted FIFA to question why City did not receive the same punishment and received a statement which included the following:

"Generally speaking, FIFA's judicial bodies handle all cases on an individual basis as circumstances differ from case to case,"

Which is great except the fact that there is no consistency in how FIFA deals with similar transgressions from different clubs and some (Chelsea) end up with harsher punishments.

Though if there is a silver lining, this hopefully will mean CAS are more inclined to reduce our ban to only 1 window which we have already served.
