Frank: "Hurt is not the word. I want to win. If I was here smiling and saying how well we played you would think I was crazy. We should be better than that,” Lampard said at Goodison Park after the defeat.
“There are home truths all the time, whatever game you play. The players need to consistently hear that. We have got a good bunch and good group in there. In the Premier League, the competitive nature of it, there are going to be times where you have difficult patches or you lose games.
"It is certainly not the end of the world, but it is important that we take on board the lessons of games like today and West Ham. We have had a week where we were poor, fantastic and poor again. That lack of consistency is not going to get us where we want to be."
With most of the extremely dof views on here during and after the match, post-loss you'd think it was the end of the world and we're in a doom and gloom situation.
Glad to have a manager that is level-headed
With our current squad, what changes would you like to see to our back line, if any?
Think he wants to see
Christensen
Christensen Christensen Christensen Christensen
Lol, probably. Actually asking all y'all
James Rudi Tomori Emerson
I dont know if the Everton result was really a sign of greater problems but if it is maybe we would do better with a back 3 again
I know Rudi close to being fit but will he be back in time for Lille?
I'm not considering fitness. I think that may be our best combo forward though.
Ah okay. Rudi fully fit without a doubt imo. I was actually hoping to see him and Christensen instead of Luiz last season. Didn't watch the full Everton match but sounds like the performance didn't inspire much confidence
Be good to have CBs with longer range of passing as well. Our build up/progression one dimensional at times. Jorginho tries but his legs are too skinny.
Agreeing with the posters calling for us to do what Liverpool did and just pay the price for someone like Koulibaly
Mapoli might budge now 4za released his family
Not sure Koulibaly would be worth £100m. He'll be 29 next season.
We were supposed to sign half that Napoli team
Got one of the best for our needs though

Forgets the number on his shirt.
Only one Bakayoko.

This thing...unless we buy a top class CB in january - Tomori still very inexperienced but would hopefully learn from Rudi if he ever returns

Christensen been shaky most times he’s played. Such a shame. Confidence completely shot post Barca game

Zouma is so limited as a footballer it’s frustrating. It’s forgivable when he clears his lines and defends well but at the weekend it was so bad that he looked like a Sunday league defender. If he could control his legs and clear the ball that third Everton goal doesn’t happen
