Don’t think Kepa could’ve done anything for the first he was one on one

Mons all I will add is that was atrocious game management, and Lampard is hsowing the same mistakes every week.

I am not saying he should go, but am I saying this is his fault - of course it is!

I don't agree
We were all over them before the sending off

Said the other day that we have very little attacking threat (goal wise) from midfield. Needs to change asap. We used to get obviously a guaranteed 20/30 goals from midfield. Probably another what? 10 or so from defence through a season? Get no where near that now.

Need a goalscoring mid desperately.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The fact we don't make use of set pieces is massively frustrating. It's essentially a free chance at a goal and can be practised in training.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

AC has missed some easy chances (not just this season). Rudi is pretty dominant in the air but doesn't seem to take that going forward in attack, similar to Zouma.

And if it goes ahead, you have players like Bruno Fernandes etc possibly on a move to a rival, may be a flop but 30 odd goals isn't bad figures for a mid by any stretch.

I'm not involved with transfer at Chelsea for a reason but times in football have changed where you pay a premium now regardless of what transfer window it is, I don't want it to be another window where competition improves and we sit back.

You wouldn't be walking properly of you had the same injury so maybe give him a bit of a break eh

For a winger his crossing is haphazard too

Mons I can’t agree re:Lampard. A lot falls on his shoulders. In fact I’ve had enough of tip toeing around it.

Sort out your team against deep lying teams
Sort out your team against set pieces
Sort out your team attacking set pieces
Sort out your teams mentality

Embarrasing tonight and if it was any other manager with this team of players we’d be calling for his head.

We were fine when Arsenal were coming on to us when they had 11 players.

In those kinds of games we look like a good team and at our best matched pool & city in one off performances.

As soon as a team sit back we look clueless, and have done for a while.
The fact that we still looked clueless even with a man advantage is worrying.

Lampard has said that he's not a manager to lay out particular patterns of play which he expects players to execute but instead gives freedom to his attacking players, it's clear that aside from buying much better attacking players that isn't going to be enough.

Even if he's not going to lay out exact patterns like a Conte or Sarri he and the rest of the staff have to provide the team more ideas on what to do when we face a set defence again because unless they do we will undoubtedly look clueless yet again.

Fair enough. Then don’t start him. Simple. He was poor when judging a pl player. I wish him all the best and hope he improves but was awful again tonight

Cavani anyone.

We've struggled for a while against teams that sit back against us. Hazard was 9/10 times our only out for that situation. Even with him, at times we struggled against teams that sit back deep.

Biggest problem we still have and I touched on this the other day, players are hesitant (and we also lack) any decent long range shooters. We still try to overplay it a lot in and around the box. Counters most of the time still lead to us charging ahead, before one player will stop allowing oppo to get back.

Or we're regressing to the mean after a lucky start?

We are not improving. This is the most worrying aspect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But as I keep saying, development or improvement is not linear
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've been on a plateau since November. It's not linear but you would've hoped that we'd have made some progress in 3 months
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I expect us to be on a plateau to next season. It takes a lot of time. These players were in the Championship last season. People are so impatient

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho to BT Sport: "We feel like we lost the game. We had the game in our hands then in the last second conceded a goal when we shouldn't. It's hard. We need to move forward.

"I don't think it's confidence because we played well and were controlling the game. Something about concentration maybe. In these kind of games, you lose in moments. We made mistakes. That is it.

"These big games are like these. You can win and lose the game in the details."

---------------------------------------
Our players literally fall to pieces when a team puts men behind the ball and denies us space to play. It's like kryptonite to these players and every team is going to do it in every game against us from now on unless we sort it.
