Really Gazza? To me he spent half the season seeming like he was getting used to his role. When he did he was quite good but not the tour de force he was under Conte.

I compared ketchup to Ed Sheeran because they are both ubiquitous and, to me, represent bland mediocrity.

When it comes to contemporary pop music, I barely listen to any of it. I saw someone mention Lana del Rey earlier, I love most of her music, for the same reason I love certain genre novelists - there is something about the aesthetics, style and lyrics that is very appealing to me.

But that is about as mainstream as my taste ever gets.

I fail to see how ketchup is bland or mediocre...As I said it's the perfect accompaniment for chips... I'm not a fan of Ed Sheeran but he's never mediocre
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Describe Ed Sheeran then?

To me he is ubiquitous background music, a bland accompaniment like over sweet Heinz ketchup on a cafe table.

Like I said he's not my cup of tea but he's a hell of a lot of other people's

As if winning awards means anything other than having a hand up your ass and being in bed with the industry. The last gasping breaths of a dying industry.

Its very rare a deserving artist wins anything. Better yet, a deserving artist doesn't need an award to know they're producing great art. Its all a sham.

Makes me laugh when people take this stance. As if by being popular u make worst music. May be the case for some, isn’t the case for others. I also think you can love a type of music (myself having been to probably near 100 hip hop venues and gigs) but also not be offended by Ed facking Sheeran.

All the while an artist doesn’t suddenly become bad if they win one. And who you think is deserving of it someone else may not think so
