Taking Chilwell off technically killed the game given hiss replacement decided not to mark someone in our 6 yard box who then scored

Yeah it was a stupid decision.

Would have made more sense moving Azpi to LB and bringing RJ on instead of Chilwell as we were defending a 1-0 lead.

Emerson is rubbish just like Alonso

Took Lampard ages to switch it even though he could see we were up against it in the 2nd half. Changes were like for like too, so poor game management IMO

90% of our possession was held by our defense.

Jose made a tactical adjustment and Lampard had zero response to it. Deer in headlights.

Havertz shouldve been brought on to add something to our zero creativity.

Emerson has more of an excuse given he never plays. But he does have a tendency to be out of position which isn’t really caused by sharpness or form

Which would've likely paid off as it would've brought Giroud into the match

I just find it so frustrating that a simple long ball tactic to bypass our weak press is enough to out manage Lampard and be our undoing.

Thing is we’re not gonna lose both Alonso and Emerson this window. Probs need to keep one as backup, even though they’d effectively be third choice LB.

So I guess bringing on Emerson was to potentially decide if he or Alonso should stay. After Alonso’s horror show, possibly a way of making it easier to sell Alonso.

But he was crap when he came on, so idk. Dumb and dumber

Given neither is good enough, I think the decision will be based on who is easier to sell to another club. If an Italian team somehow bid £20m or so for Emerson, the club won’t refuse.

And I’m not aware of any youth team LBs we could use as backup. Not like equivalent to Lamptey last year.

Correct

I would like to see Maatsen to get some games, looked good when he played last year. The other two aren’t really good enough, so might as well give those rotation minutes to a promising young player.

I don’t know how highly rated he is. Have heard his name mentioned a few time’s on here though.

If he’s another Lamptey that would be cool.

Supposedly RLC might still be heading out. I think Lampard's going for a 4-2-3-1 formation this season. Don't really like any of our pivot options but it makes the most sense considering our remaining players.
