Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel says 'family issues' were behind Christian Pulisic's absence from the win over Sheffield United on Sunday.

The American came on as a substitute in the win over Tottenham last Thursday, but was nowhere to be seen against the Blades.

"Christian has some family issues to resolve and family is always first so we decided to give him a rest for this game," Tuchel said after the game.

The Blues have moved up to fifth after their win at Bramall Lane.

They are now one point behind fourth-placed Liverpool

Chelsea are reported to have reached an agreement with the agent of Jerome Boateng to bring the Bayern Munich defender to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The 32-year-old defender will be a free agent this summer and looks destined to leave Bayern. While all the attention has focused on his teammate, David Alaba, Boateng has, somewhat, slipped under the radar.

England have done this for a long time though. I remember not liking Strauss as a captain for similar reasons.

Playing defensively in the 4th innings when you’ve already got a near world record target to beat is one of my least favourite things about test cricket.
