Positive feelings around Raheem Sterling deal also tonight. Chelsea have a new bid ready, Man City are prepared to let him go as it was part of the plan - and Raheem is keen on Chelsea move. Personal terms, already discussed. 🔵 #CFC
Second bid is coming.
Yeah I reckon it'll be around that much.
City doing well on selling their rejects. We'll probably go in for Ake too if TT has his way
It's funny when Sterling went for £49m to City in 2015 that was a vast sum and one of the deals of the window, now that's just like, a standard fee for a player.
Neymar transfer really warped the market.
Yeah 50 mil just seems like the starting price for most players even if they have 1 left year contract lol
I can’t get excited by the Sterling signing. I don’t see that he brings anything that we need

I get it's much more complex than that.
I can see Sterling getting a ton of tap ins at the far post from James's crosses.
He puts up numbers year after year, and we need someone who produces G+A.
I also like the seeming move to a system without a so called "recognised striker".
Think it suits our forwards all of whom are more like in between players than straight wingers.

Club legend, loves the club, highly intelligent, now has experience working high up in a club.
No one actually knows exactly what his role involved but those are all attributes that would be very useful to the new board, all it took was for them to find him the right role in the new set up.
Oh well
Thing what you don’t get Randy is Cech does not align with the new owners
These new owners are not buying us because they love us they’re buying us because they want to make us into an even bigger colossal brand and then start reaping the benefits of that
Cech is club over business, they’d have fallen out multiple times
There’s also an issue of players having Cech’s ear and going behind Tuchel’s back to Cech and causing issues there or Cech won’t be as cut throat or agree with being so cut throat and making hard decisions
Wouldn’t of worked unfortunately
Plus he was very close with Marina, And Marina and Tuchel evidently didn’t get on
Sterling is nothing other than a statement signing to say “look at us, Man City are PL champions Sterling has been an integral part of that, England international, prime years, still banging goals and assists in, and we’ve just signed him” irrespective of his remaining contract years or perhaps sliding down the pecking order it’s a statement signing.
That’s what most of our signings will look like these days, commercial attractions and something that can a attract a statement
I like Cech - he has always been a gentleman as a player and recently as part of the management team. It’s widely reported that he was responsible for bringing in Mendy after the terrible decision to sign Kepa - so he has that going for him. And he was undoubtedly fiercely loyal to Chelsea, rather than just a corporate guy. But saying all of that, he just seemed like a middle man between Marina and Tuchel, and I was never quite sure what his main role was.
He’s always been a good ambassador for the club, and he could probably serve in some kind of PR role, but there’s no evidence that he’s added much as a “technical and performance” director. Maybe for the goalkeepers?
Law saying we want both Ake and Sterling from City.

I’m not speaking from the new board’s perspective, all I’m saying is that for me as a fan he’s exactly the type of person I’d want in a high up position.
Obviously I get that the owners don’t agree otherwise he wouldn’t be gone

Tuchel said he enjoyed working with both of them as it allowed him to focus on coaching.
Please don’t sign Ake ffs
"Chelsea have opened talks with Manchester City over the prospect of a double move for Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake.
Co-owner Todd Boehly contacted the Premier League champions on Monday to check on their valuation of both players, with Chelsea keen to sign both.
While Sterling had emerged as one of Chelsea’s top attacking targets some time ago and has already been contacted by head coach Thomas Tuchel, Ake has moved towards the top of their list of potential defensive signings.
Tuchel was interested in signing Ake while he was in charge of Borussia Dortmund and the fact the 27-year-old can slot in to the left side of a back three to replace Antonio Rudiger, as well as fill in at left-back and in midfield, is particularly attractive.
Ake also offers Premier League experience, which could be vital given Chelsea have to sign at least two new central defenders this summer.
Just as Sterling would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge, Ake is thought to be open to the idea of returning to Chelsea, where he spent seven years after joining as a 15-year-old.
Chelsea have spoken to Juventus about Matthijs de Ligt, but the Italians are currently holding out for a huge fee which has held up progress, while discussions are ongoing over a move for long-term target Jules Kounde from Sevilla.
Were Chelsea to sign Kounde and Ake, then Reece James could start next season on the right side of Tuchel’s back three with the Frenchman at right wing-back to give him time to get used to English football.
Other than Sterling, Chelsea are interested in Arsenal target Raphinha and Everton star Richarlison, who Tottenham Hotspur have opened discussions over."
