With state of origin being held in such high regard to all players regardless of where they were born the powers to be have been looking at ways to introduce Kiwi's into the frame.
I personally don't think we should make any changes to something that is a proven success.
There was even talk of having a tri-series with N-Z included, now it is looking into players born outside of either state a chance to play what some believe is the highest level (to me test footy will always be the highest of honours)

Sam Burgess has himself stated he would love to play origin footy, well that's tough luck Sam...olé mate because your an English lad for ever and a day what ever your passion is telling you.
As for Kasiano.....you can't have your cake and eat it to, and as for declaring where and what you want, it is easy......you are a Kiwi, so be proud of it and look forward to many years of wearing your heart on the sleeve of the black & white N.Z jersey.

I believe the NSW VS Queensland games are successful because of the love/hate relationship this 3 match series develops and to make changes to suit an increase in t.v audience through-out New-Zealand is simply not on......the players I feel sorry for, are those that are born in Victoria or Western Australia where they will never be able to represent their home state but will be selected on whom they play their first representitive game for at or after they reach 15 years of age..

Cheers

May I add.....this Queensland mob have never been slow on getting outside help when ever they can and will try every trick in the book to bend the rules to suit themselves, yet cry wolf when something goes against them and suggest the numbers in admin are stacked against them and whinge whinge whinge all the time. But that's life as a Queenslander, they think they are a country of their own and stuff the rest...

It is my opinion, and possibly others that Big Mal and the Queensland Board are not too worried represents them as long as they win. I am not alone in thinking that to play for a country you must been born in that country, have a parent that was born in that country, or have lived in that country for 10 years. The original idea of state of Origin was really a test trial for Australia, that seems to have gone out the door now. The ARL commision cant rule on who plays who countries, but what they could do is bring in a rule where you can only play SOO if you were born in the state and played your first Rugby there, and /or have lived in the state for 10 years.
