Skrtel (as alot of people are assuming) will have to play in a higher defensive line (The alleged Brendan Rodgers way). Therefore he won't be as effective.
In that case, sell Skrtel + £5m for Adam Johnson, Nigel De Jong and John Guidetti.
I'm personally fed up of our club constantly being stitched up over valuation of players at LFC, far too many of them get moved on for low amounts (not inc Torres!)
I really like the look of Guidetti, he certainly knows where the goal is.
Valuations - Johnson £10m, De Jong £14m + Guidetti £6m.
That makes Skrtel £25m !

I can't see why City would spend £20m of a centre back, when they have a great partnership in Kompany and Lescott. I also can't see Skrtel sitting on the bench, he has had a couple of years of it and finally got in the side regularly.
I like Skrtel, but he's not worth £20m. If they offered that i think Rodgers would take it, spend up to £10m on the 20 year old Caulker from Spurs and use the rest to up-grade the squad.
Rodgers himself has said he knows we need a few players, by this i think he means 4 or 5. I for one wouldn't mind such a deal if it could be done, i would like quite a young squad.

Although he was probably our best defender last year, he has alwasys been rash in the tackle, and isn't as cultured as agger, I for one would bite their hand off for that amount and buy a decent replacement and a much needed top striker with the money!!!
