Jay Rod misses out!

It's hardly surprising, he's left out all of the best players! Where's Jack Wilshere for God's sake!

Oh, hang on ...

Seriously, did JayRod even stand a chance? And do you really want him to go?

Wilshire has been unofficially 'withdrawn' by Arsenal, because 'he's tired'!!!

Not that that stopped Wenger playing him in every match recently. I'd love to know what Alexander thinks about all these kids feeling tired!!

I think it's a shame for Jay as it would have given him some fantastic experience - but the risk of injury would concern me.

Have we met before Harrogate? If not, I'm the resident Arsenal supporting slightly sarcastic Burnley follower. Not many of us around ... hello!

So yeah, I was being sarcastic about Wilshere. A large part of me would've liked to see him go, although with Champion's League quailifiers now a reality for us, I guess it's best he doesn't.

I think most fans feel the same - the experience for their players would be second to none, but the risk of tiredness and injury is too much if they're an integral part of your team.

Hi, I don't think we have met. I was a latecomer to 606 about 18 months ago, and I don't remember you being on there in the last 12 months or so.....? but I might be wrong.

I hadn't appreciated the sarcasm - I normally need a wink or similar to pick up on the irony!!

I've can't help thinking that English football is worse off for people like Wilshire not going - it seemed to do Spain et al alot of good when their youngsters won the under 21s a while ago....

No, I've been unfortunately banned from 606 for the past 15 or 16 months. Darn them and their over zealousness!!

Sorry, I'll be sure to use a sarcasm indicator next time. (That's not one, that's just to show I'm being humourous ...)

I totally agree with you. I don't know how England can hope the senior team will perform well at international level if they haven't competed together at a junior level. Germany have a fantastic young squad now who won major competitions at under-21 level and are now competing in the seniors.

Did you get banned from 606 for agreeing with sensible posters?!?!?!?

I know people like to fallout over nowt but really!!!

posted on 24/5/11

Yeah cummon Gunner Girl, spill the beans why you was banned.

Roverblue!! (I can't believe I'm actually pleased to see you guys. It's a strange old feeling) And by the way, I'm trying to keep the girl thing underwraps, hence the slight change of username.

I've just reread that and it sounds like I'm giving up flashing or something!

I wasn't actually banned from 606, but another BBC site called hootoo, and apparently the BBC operate a one site all site type policy. I was banned for suggestive behaviour. It wasn't my fault though!!

Suggestive behaviour eh ! sounds good to me.

posted on 24/5/11

Yeah, it's not as exciting as it sounds. Overuse of euphamisms ... not the raciest reason to be banned, surely?

So this is where everyone will be when 606 finally closes? Pretty much the same format, makes life a bit easier

I love the Under21's. I watch them more then the Seniors (more passion and commitment) so it sickens me to see Arsen Wenger try and ruin young Englishmens development.

By development I mean he is 18/19 so will be playing for England for another 10-15 years (if all goes well) but surely he could have gain valuable tournament experience as well as experience with the other English players that will soon make the step up.

Wenger hates England.

Sorry for that off topic rant, any way I would have loved seeing Jay Rod in the Under21's.

I always love seeing Burnley lads do well internationally, whatever the level.

Oh well Jack Corks there and he's a Burnley boy as far as I care.

Seriously Telford, are you winding me up?

Wenger would never try and ruin any young player's development - sure, he would ruin his own team's chances of winning trophies by concentrating too much on his philosophy of developing young and unknown players - but he would never act against what he believes is the best interest of his player.

Under Wenger this season, Wilshere played every week against Premier League and Champion's League opponents, he broke into the senior England squad and he's been talked about as one of the most promising rising stars of English football. How's that ruined his development?

Wenger believes playing in the Under 21s this year would be detrimental to Wilshere's development in the future because it would affect his fitness. Nobody can say for sure if that's going to be the case, but can you really accuse Wenger of ruining a player's development because he's looking out for the interests of the player and the team?

And Wenger doesn't hate England. He hates water bottles.

still makes me mad at the decision not to include jay,but the way players are dropping out you never know.
we were talking about it in the bar and one t'rovers fan said about pearce, that he is so thick,he could'nt teach a dog to ****.
sums that up,and he is a future england manager, groomed by capello? you put both of them in a room and they could'nt decide where the door is.
