Roy is much better these days as a pundit than as a manager!

You know what would go down well, Mccarthy can be manager and Keane can be his assistant! All hell would break loose then.

Seriously though, the Forest owners will want a say in transfer policy, I think Mr Keane's ego is too big to allow them to dictate certain aspects of transfer policy!

He is a good pundit Reiver but I wish he would do something about that huge chip on his shoulder he still has over the Fai! Shame to see such a great former player allowing himself to be consumed by bitterness! I actually think he will go on to become a very good manager in time.

Let himself down very badly in Saippan and probably realises it now. That sort of thing will always stick with him. IMO it spoilt an outstanding playing career.

He's still right about the FAI and you can only look at few videos of that clown John Delaney in the summer to back him up.

As for him getting the Forest job it looks like Hoddle is on for it now and even tho Keane's agent said he be interested I wouldnt be 100% sure would he take because if the oweners are not up to MMC standards will they up to Keano's? Unless they were to ambitious for old Mick

I agree.

I dislike a lot of people within the FAI, but Keano should have directed his anger there instead of at the players.

John Delaney!

€430,000 a year, and for what?

Roy Keane….

Good servant for Ireland but never have I seen a man so much up his own hole than Roy ‘bloody’ Keane!

Forest would be mad to give him the job.

Second HENRIK two above. We all know a lot of the FA staff/Admin people around are txssers, but thats beside the point. You're playing for your country, not them! You dont walk out on your country or your team mates like that! Roy cocked up big time and its too late for him to do anything about it! He should have stood by the team, played his part and then made his point in a dignified manner when the tournament was over!

He wont take the Forest job. Its too risky and another managerial flop is something he doesnt need!

Reiver, I agree.

He shouldn't have walked out in 2002, but all I was saying is that a lot of the points Keane made about the FAI culture were valid.

If Keane played for the team at the World Cup, and then after it came out with his comments about the FAI then the whole nation wouldn't have been as divided on the issue. There would have been a lot more sympathy for him and hatred for the FAI. Nevertheless, what Keane done was unacceptable.

But you only have to look at idiots such as Delaney to recognise that Keane made some valid points.

HENRIK, agreed. All the points Ive heard Keane make about the FAI seem sound, but like I say thats beside the point. On a personal level, he lost it and he knows it. He didnt box clever or fair!

I agree, it is quite sad to see a terrific player diminish in credibility every time he opens his mouth!

Roy Keane was making these points for years before the summer of 2002 but nobody took no real notice until he blow up in the World Cup but if people backed Keane with his points well before the World Cup maybe alot of this would not of happened.

The fact is most Irish fans and people wouldn't of backed Keane after the WC either as you suggested as most would of said "oh shut up Keane at least we got there and gave it ago" Which will always be the way for alot of Irish people think. We as Irish people think getting to a finals is job done while other countries would think its just the start of the job...

Another Irishman got the forest job, the vastly underrated but highly accomplished Sean o'driscoll. Kane will struggle to get another job in England as he rep is too much of a brooding psycho who can't motivate players. Might need to go abroad to rebuild his rep

I think its a good decision by the Forest owners Driscoll is a good manager who plays some very good football thought he was very unlucky at Doncaster not to be given more time as he showed them alot loyalty when the likes of Bolton were looking around him a year or two back.

As for Keane getting another job Im sure he will not a big one but a championship or league 1 as he is a big name and will draw alot attention to a club which some chairmen would love

I know some Doncaster people thought highly of O'Driscoll. Mind you, Forest is a bigger club than Doncaster, so Sean should be smiling!
