its so much hassle and effort for such a little chance of making it though, better off putting everything we have into the league
I agree. I want to win this competition now even more than last year given the fact that winner gets champs league!
Messiah,
The chances of winning Europa league I feel are more likely given that there are less games to play (even though you have to win them all)
I'm looking forward to the Europa league, will be decent I reckon

yeah but its a massive toll on the team with the travelling they have to do, dunno man maybe you're right, I just see us continually in this competition dragging the team all over the back end of europe for fack all reward
We have a big squad now with lots of young players that can travel abroad
Is this the year that the Europa winners get champions league ?
If so this is a big year

Yes
If the team puts their minds to it we could actually when this competition.
Many of the CL drop outs are likely to be certain to qualify through their leagues so will they want to risk that by taking this seriously.
In which case I would fancy us against those teams also when we will be eager for the CL spot. In the past we have been in the top 4 running and minds not entirely focused and lose to teams when could have won (e.g. Benefica last season ended up close but we were a mess at WHL). This season I do not see us being in top 4 running when it counts and neither do we need to be anymore.
Imagine being slightly off the pace of PL but still in Europa knock out stages and FA Cup. Then the cups and winning something should then be priority over league.
we should be able to cruise through the quali. and group stages utilising our squad in full....the likes of Dier, Rose, Fryers, Chiriches, Vorm, Carroll? all getting a chance to show what they can do and keep sharp...but you have to have 4 or 5 normal first XI in there to keep some continuity & experience.
I think that is what AVB did. A lot of the players involved were first team but he rotated them...they all played some but not all the games while fringe players were also included. Its a myth that AVB played our best team the whole time, the squad usually excluded no one but more often than not many were rested or played a bit part role.
I think the only change needed is to perhaps leave a few out of the squad altogether and rotate this....4 away games, make sure that key players are not in the squad at least once (depending on circumstances/injuries etc).
I'm really not bothered about top 4... I'd rather have a real go in all the cups and try and win something this season
The great thing is we have 2 chances for Cl qualification. Through the league and if we win the Europa cup. Really hope poch atleast gets us to one of the cup finals this year, it's been long overdue

Enjoy Cyprus lads "Keo" is a lovely beer
No matter what anyone says, winning in Europe is awesome
when Chelsea won it, it was a great feeling and now with the CL place up for grabs there is a new gloss to the comp.
I give spurs stick, because of banter but I hope that English clubs go out and stick it to platini and co
its their to be won
Wouldn't be surprised to see Mason start v WHU
Kent? I think we'll see Capoue and Bentaleb.
