I'd argue eriksen is needed for this exact type of game
Bruce gonna park a big old bus
Sanchez is probably the most suited to play against fast forwards because of how fast he is
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes he is fast but you need a brain to work out what a fast and lively mobile forward is going to do and there he is totally lacking

Well he's still on the bench, so if we really need him he can come on later.

I don't think that applies to fast strikers in particular, you need a Brain to defend any type of striker
I'd sanchez is better equipped to deal with a fast striker than he is to deal with a big physical target man

You have obviously forgotten all about the Sanchez performance against them last year. Gave away a goal with a bad header, gave away a penalty that should have lost us the game, a little reminder of Sanchez against a fast and mobile forward below.

You must have forgotten about all of his performances against bigger strikers
I don't think a bad header is an example of him struggling against fast players sorry

How about the penalty and his overall performance?
How about the goal we conceded against Villa?
Would you like a complete list of the times a nippy forward left him for dead?

Yes please because I dont think it happens very often
His recovery pace is the best part of his game
I am not ruining a match thread with a detailed examination of one player
His recovery pace is the best part of his game
IMO he does not have a "best part" to his game, he is simply not good enough full stop.

Sums him up, ball watching, losing his man, nobody else to mark but he still does not pick the man up, a nippy striker is in, one touch and a shot beats recovery pace anytime
That's not an example of a striker using their pace to beat him
Its him being positionally poor which is completely different to what you were saying
Facking Mike Dean , caaant !
That's not an example of a striker using their pace to beat him

No we just need the Villa goal to show that
You do realise that with a fast mobile striker its not all about a 50 yard sprint dont you?
Fast and nippy is fast over 5 yards, fast of thought, fast on the turn and fast to get a shot off, jesus why on earth are the basics of football needing to be explained
This is football not athletics

No the villa goal doesnt show that at all
"Fast and mobile strikers" doesnt at all suggest you're talking about strikers who are "fast of thought" ffs
