West Ham are in the Championship and we're still attracting investors.
Imagine what it will be like when we move into the Olympic Stadium!!!

Yup. Smaller stadiums tend to generate better atmospheres.

Got to laugh at all these bitter spudlings

I think they;re being bitter because deep down they know that once we nab Modric they'll be an average mid table club with only West ham to laugh at

The return

If you think Levy will budge on the Modric saga then you're more desperate than the West Ham fans thinking they hold the bragging rights over Spurs. All for having the priviledge of playing infront of 50,000 empty seats & a running track.

Yeah, a bleeding running track i tell you.

chicken: For West Ham to play in front of 50k empty seats means that we will get only 10k attendances. But in the Premiership our average was around 30k (similar to yours, in fact). When we were in the Championship the average was around 20k.

I know maths isn't your strong point (34,000 is less than 30,000. Remember that one??), but I'd love to hear your explanation of that comment. Unless of course, like much of what you say, it's just random nonsense plucked out of the air.

The longer you're in the lower tier of football, the lower your attendances will be. Your club are struggling to sell season tickets for this season (which to most people would suggest that the fans are dropping like flies already), give it a few more months & the non-season holders will also stop going, then on top of that you have the ones who will get fed up with the long ball football. On top of that you have the fans who simply go for the atmosphere - well when they realise they're sharing a 60k stadium with just 20k people, this is likely to reduce faster & faster, hence i believe my 10k fanbase to be quite accurate.

As such:

West Ham currently have about 25k that will go.

During the season this will drop to 20k

When they finish midtable or below & have to face another year in the Championship (at best) they will lose more fans = max 15k will go.

They move into the OS & realise that not only is the football shocking but so is the support, the atmosphere & the view from behind a running track .

Which, you dont need a flux capacitor to work out, will equal about 9.9812 fans remaining.

Scribe,

The problem is, in myhammers' brain West Ham are already promoted. All the hard work has already been done by signing Big Sam & Nolan.

Whilst my calculations above are tongue in cheek, the patterrn i describe is not likley to be too far from the truth.

It is also truth that West Ham cant sell their season tickets as it is. As such, i just dont know where they are going to get a further 100% fanbase from, even if they do get promoted.

Where is the 15,000 season ticket waiting list Karren Brady was telling us about?

posted on 22/7/11

chicken: No West Ham fan is saying we are guaranteed promotion. I have always said that we have to wait and see what the squad will be like come the end of the transfer deadline.
That said, whilst I am not as confident as the bookies - who have us as favourites to go up - I am confident we'll do well. We'll probably make the play-off final, as we did in both seasons we spent in the Champonship.
Contrast this with your assertion that we will remain in the Champonship for a long time, even going into League 1.

And you say we need to get another 100% fanbase to fill the OS. Therefore you're saying that the current 30k who represent our average attendance are our entire fanbase. Another ludicrous football insight!

Scribe: I agree. If West Ham don't go up this season or next, it will have significant negative repercussions. It's imperative we are in the Premiership when we move into the OS. Those at the club have stated this.

Maybe i should rephrase that a bit. West Ham obviously have more than 30,000 fans - its just none none of them want to go to watch the games.

Cant blame them though. That Long Ball League must be awful.

Yours, on the other hand, have the occasional tendency to be just a bit daft.
