Airdrieonians Football Club are a Scottish semi-professional football team based in Airdrie who are members of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) and play in the SPFL Scottish League One. They were formed in 2002 as Airdrie United Football Club following the liquidation of the original club. The club's official name was changed in 2013 with the approval of the SFA to the traditional name of Airdrieonians. As with the earlier team of the same name, this is often colloquially shortened to simply "Airdrie".

It is my opinion, and possibly others that Big Mal and the Queensland Board are not too worried represents them as long as they win. I am not alone in thinking that to play for a country you must been born in that country, have a parent that was born in that country, or have lived in that country for 10 years. The original idea of state of Origin was really a test trial for Australia, that seems to have gone out the door now. The ARL commision cant rule on who plays who countries, but what they could do is bring in a rule where you can only play SOO if you were born in the state and played your first Rugby there, and /or have lived in the state for 10 years.
