Environmental activist, Greta Thunberg is to appear as one of the Christmas guest editors of Radio 4's Today programme.

The 16-year-old campaigner will be one of five high-profile people who will take over the programme during the festive period, as is tradition.

The others include Turner Prize-winning artist Grayson Perry and Supreme Court president Baroness Hale of Richmond.

George the Poet and journalist Charles Moore will also take the reins.

It’s so dissapointing to see this. I stayed up to watch the team look so disinterested post lunch. Feel for the poor Barmy Army, singing their hearts out for a team who looked like they didn’t want to be there. It’s flat, and it’s easy to understand the struggle for wickets- but at least put 100% when you put on the england shirt

Sonny Bill Williams is set to play in the 2020 Challenge Cup after Toronto Wolfpack's re-admission was confirmed.

The Canadian club took part in the competition in each of the first two years of their existence in 2017 and 2018 but withdrew last season after being told to pay a bond.

Wolfpack did change their mind, but it came too late for them to enter.

Great Britain missed out on a place in the Davis Cup final after Spain's Rafael Nadal and Feliciano Lopez edged out Jamie Murray and Neal Skupski in a heartbreaking doubles defeat.

The British pair lost 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (10-8) in the deciding rubber.

The teams had been level at 1-1 after the singles, when Nadal beat Dan Evans, and Kyle Edmund won against Lopez.

The Spanish pair then sparked joyous scenes in Madrid by setting up a final against Canada on Sunday.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith says he has an "awful lot of respect" for Steve Bruce, before Newcastle's visit to Villa Park on Monday.

Bruce was sacked by the Midlands club in October 2018, four months after losing the Championship play-off final.

His relationship with the Villa fans turned sour, with one supporter throwing a cabbage at Bruce before his final game in charge.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola fears the injury Sergio Aguero suffered in their 2-1 win over Chelsea is a "bad" muscle problem.

Argentina striker Aguero, 31, hobbled off after 77 minutes and was replaced by Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus.

"Sergio will be bad, I think. Tomorrow we will know it. The feeling is it's muscular," said Guardiola.

India became the first team to win four consecutive Tests by an innings as they crushed Bangladesh in the second Test.

Hosting their maiden day-night Test, the home side's first innings of 347-9 declared proved enough as they bowled Bangladesh out for 106 and 195-9.

The tourists began day three on 152-6 and lost their final three wickets in 8.4 overs, with Mahmudullah not batting after retiring hurt on day two.

India's victory by an innings and 46 runs sealed a 2-0 series win.

It was also their seventh Test win in a row and consolidated their position at the top of the World Test Championship.
