Do you accept though, that it’s clearly stifling the party? Might it be best for a new party to emerge?

Light Up the World is the first Christmas album, and the fourth studio album, by British pop group Steps. The album was released on 12 November 2012 after it was announced on 24 September 2012. It is the band's first studio album since 2000's Buzz. It is also the first release on Steps' own label, Steps Recordings. The group released a greatest hits album in 2001. "Chain Reaction", a cover of the popular Diana Ross song, was released as the first single from Gold: Greatest Hits and was another UK number two. The second single, "Words Are Not Enough"/"I Know Him So Well", was another top five hit and became the final single from the group. They announced their split on Boxing Day 2001.

I had a little nut-tree,
Nothing would it bear.
I searched in all its branches,
But not a nut was there.

'Oh, little tree,' I begged,
'Give me just a few.'
The little tree looked down at me
And whispered, 'Nuts to you.'

Claire King, who plays Kim Tate in Emmerdale, has described Mercier as the soap's "beating heart".

A spokeswoman for ITV confirmed Mercier's death in a statement on Friday night.

She said: "It's always sad to hear of the death of an actor who played a significant part in Emmerdale's success.

"Even more so when that actor was in the very first episode and around whose family the show was built."

Emmerdale actor, Mark Charnock, also paid tribute to Mercier.

Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle, said: "The great Sheila Mercier has left us. What an iconic character Annie Sugden was.

"Used to watch it with my grandparents as a boy, so to meet her in later years was a thrill."

Sir Rod Stewart has become the oldest male solo artist to have a number one album in the UK.

The British singer's 10th chart topper You're In My Heart was released on 22 November.

But it rose to the top spot this week in a close race - with a difference of just 750 in sales between Sir Rod, Robbie Williams and The Who.

Sir Rod, who is 74 years and 11 months old, has taken the accolade from American singer Paul Simon.

He beat Simon by three months, the Official Charts Company said.

But Sir Rod has a way to go to beat the oldest female to top the album charts. Dame Vera Lynn scored a number one in 2014 when she was 97 with the collection Vera Lynn: National Treasure.

As for the youngest acts to ever claim at UK Number 1 single, that honour would fall to Jimmy Osmond and Helen Shapiro. Helen is the youngest female; her track You Don’t Know reached the peak of the Official Singles Chart mountain in 1961 when she was 14. She would be the youngest chart topper ever for 11 years, and then Jimmy Osmond came along. Incredibly, Jimmy was just nine years old when Long Haired Lover From Liverpool climbed to Number 1 in December 1972.

Sudan's ex-president Omar al-Bashir has been sentenced to two years in a social reform facility for corruption.

The judge told the court that, under Sudanese law, people over the age of 70 cannot serve jail terms. Bashir is 75.

Bashir also faces charges related to the 1989 coup that brought him to power, genocide, and the killing of protesters before his ousting in April.

During the sentencing, his supporters started chanting that the trial was "political" and were ordered to leave.
