Just when you thought Italy took the proverbial cheese for those maggots, along come Germany with its mite excrement variety. Produced in Wurchwitz from quark, it sits among dust mites for several months, with some rye for them to nibble on.
The mites excrete an enzyme to ripen the cheese that turns it progressively yellow, red-brown and then black, at which point it's eaten, mites and all. Bitter and zesty, the cheese is said to have curative effects for allergies to house dust.

The fastest road race in the world is the Silver State Classic Challenge held on Nevada's Route 318, in which the fastest cars can surpass speeds of 394 km/h (245 mph) over the 145-km (90-mile) course.

If you have ever wondered what it would be like to drive your car as fast as you can handle over 90-120 miles of closed highway, or have always wanted to participate in a high speed auto rally or Open Road Racing event, there is no better place to find out what it’s like than on Nevada Highway 318. Best of all, the local Sheriff will smile and wave at you as you pass him by doing 165 in a 70. Where else can you get that rush of constant speed for that long or a distance without risking life, limb, and your driver’s license?

The first blue British passports for nearly 30 years will be issued next month, the Home Office has said.

The current burgundy design is being replaced, following the UK's departure from the European Union.

Blue passports were introduced in 1921 and phased out after 1988 when members of the then European Economic Community agreed to harmonise designs.

Home Secretary Priti Patel said the passport will "once again be entwined with our national identity".

BBC broadcaster and former teacher Simon Warr has died from cancer at 65.

He often appeared on BBC Radio Suffolk and was the headmaster on Channel 4's reality documentary That'll Teach 'Em.

On Thursday the broadcaster announced on Twitter he had a "very serious health condition" and was in a hospice.

Warr, who was wrongly accused of historical child abuse in 2012, said he hoped his legacy would be raising "awareness of the human costs" of false allegations and wrongful convictions.

Former pupils made allegations against Warr but he was cleared of all charges in 2014.

Scotland ran in three tries against Italy to earn their first win in six games in the Six Nations and ease the pressure on head coach Gregor Townsend.

Captain Stuart Hogg's stunning solo effort in Rome was the Scots' first of the campaign and was added to after the break by centre Chris Harris and late on by fly-half Adam Hastings.

Italy, searching for a first Six Nations win in 25 matches since beating Scotland in 2015, failed to breach a resolute defence and are rooted at the bottom of the table after three games.
