Kasabian star Tom Meighan is stepping down from the band after 23 years.

The singer behind hits like Fire, LSF and Empire is leaving "by mutual consent", the band said in a statement.

"Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time," they said.

The 39-year-old "now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track", the Leicester band added, before concluding: "We will not be commenting further."

Meighan was a founding member of the band in 1997 alongside guitarist Serge Pizzorno, naming themselves after Linda Kasabian, a member of the Charles Manson cult.

They went on to become one of England's biggest rock bands, with five of their six albums going to number one. They headlined the Glastonbury Festival in 2014 and won best British band at the 2010 Brit Awards.

Oh the lament across the net a few years back when Kraft decided to discontinue the garlic cheese roll! Didn't Kraft realize that while it may not have been a big seller throughout the year, thousands upon thousands of cooks across the country used that roll of garlic cheese to make their holiday broccoli cheese casserole, spinach casserole, garlic cheese biscuits, cheese balls, stove-top garlic cheese grits, and baked cheese grits, who knows what else?!

Former Bundesliga champions Werder Bremen avoided relegation from the German top flight on away goals after a 2-2 draw at second division Heidenheim.

Bremen were last relegated to the second tier for the 1980-81 season, which is the only campaign they have spent out of the Bundesliga.

The first leg of the promotion-relegation play-off had ended 0-0.

In the second leg, Bremen twice took the lead before holding on for a draw which kept them up.

TikTok has said it will quit Hong Kong after China imposed a new security law on the city.

"In light of recent events, we've decided to stop operations of the TikTok app in Hong Kong," a spokesman told the BBC.

The company's exit from the city will come "within days," according to the Reuters news agency.

Facebook and Twitter said this week they were "pausing" co-operation with Hong Kong police over user information.

The short-form video app was launched by China-based ByteDance for users outside mainland China as part of a strategy to grow its global audience.

The tech company operates a similar short video sharing app in China called Douyin.

Helen Newington Wills (October 6, 1905 – January 1, 1998), also known as Helen Wills Moody and Helen Wills Roark, was an American tennis player. She became famous around the world for holding the top position in women's tennis for a total of nine years: 1927–33, 1935 and 1938. She won 31 Grand Slam tournament titles (singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles) during her career, including 19 singles titles.

Wills was the first American woman athlete to become a global celebrity, making friends with royalty and film stars despite her preference for staying out of the limelight. She was admired for her graceful physique and for her fluid motion. She was part of a new tennis fashion, playing in knee-length pleated skirts rather than the longer ones of her predecessors. Unusually, she practiced against men to hone her craft, and she played a relentless game, wearing down her female opponents with power and accuracy. In 1933, she beat the eighth-ranked US male player in an exhibition match.

Her record of eight wins at Wimbledon was not surpassed until 1990 when Martina Navratilova won her ninth. She was said to be "arguably the most dominant tennis player of the 20th century", and has been called by some (including Jack Kramer, Harry Hopman, Mercer Beasley, Don Budge, and AP News) the greatest female player in history.

Guðni Bergsson (born 21 July 1965), is an Icelandic former professional footballer who played for Bolton Wanderers and the current president of the Icelandic Football Association.

Despite Allardyce's efforts to make him stay another season, Guðni retired. In all he made 270 league appearances for the Trotters scoring 22 goals before finally taking up a career in law.

He has, however, maintained his links with the club and is now the President of the former-players association as well acting as a part-time scout of budding Icelandic players. In 2008, he was a major influence in persuading AZ Alkmaar defender Grétar Steinsson to join Bolton.

Barnsley battled back to rescue a point against fellow strugglers Luton Town to help keep their hopes of Championship survival alive.

The Hatters took the lead early on when Elliott Lee hit the post and Luke Berry fired in his first goal of the season on the rebound.

The visitors scored a late equaliser when substitute Aapo Halme poked home inside the box as Luton struggled to clear the ball away.

Both sides almost pulled off a dramatic win late on when Patrick Schmidt's flick-on flew across the face of the Luton goal while Christian Walton saved Harry Cornick's shot at the other end moments later.

The result tonight was determined about a year ago when we got rid of three influential players and replaced them with players whose only experience of English football was Sky Sports News.

Consistently lack any physical presence in the last third of the pitch. Lack a player who attacks balls in the box ala Moore.

Lack width, lack pace. lack creativity.
