Rio Ferdinand - What a Guy

Hmmm

It is a decent act - no doubt. But it is not as if he was in a position or could afford to say no.

Kudos to the charity for the axiomatic upturn in patronage and i guess kudos to Ferdy but it is nothing noteworthy tbf.

he could have easily ignored the tweet as they expected him to

He could have just ignored the tweet and pretended he didn't see it though. That's what I probably would have done.

Exactly, but he didn't. What a guy

You will find there isn't a PL footballer who doesn't do a lot if work for charity, the media jut choose to ignore it most of the time.

Fair play to him, and the charity

Shame the club couldn't have been as nice

Very true, they rarely get any credit for that side.

Aye, too often they're just portrayed as money grabbing gets and this side gets overlooked.

If I were a PL footballer I'd give away a lot of my money to charity. No one needs that much.

Credit were its due, not he biggest fan of Rio for obvious reasons but must say well done.

Most people use twitter for self indulgence but there are a few who choose to help others Rio being one of them if only other major stars we as approachable as him.

PS hope he has a terrible game come Sunday, sorry lads I am a red.

Ynwa!!

Rio is a bit of a muppet to be fair, some of his cone backs in Twitter are funny. He sounds like the kid who never grew grew up, he doesn't sound like a 33 year old.

Remember his 'murked' show during the WC 2006? He should so do that again!!!

Did anyone see the videos of KSI vs Rio on fifa on youtube? Rio gets beaten twice in stoppage time, and afterwards says how badly it hurts and how he now knows how other teams feel like when we do it to them

To be fair BB, he's never had to grow up really. He's been a professional footballer all his life with more money than he can possibly know what to do with.

True, I suppose when all become kids when we step into a footballing environment. In fact, it seems the older you become the more you control the banter within the dressing room!! The eldest often play the most childish jokes

Exactly, even outside of football though, once you have the money to be able to ignore things like bills, mortgages and that kind of thing, there's just any real 'pressure' that forces you to mature past a point.

Yeah, I don't think his tweet on new years eve in particular was that well thought through Busby. Fair play to him on this though.

I won't believe he's that serious about this charity until I see him, in a sponsored tutu, showing us his dance moves during the warm-up.

You just KNOW he's dying to do just that, right?
