Gotta Dr-B..Nothing better than the first morning of the first test match of a series...

Agreed Doctor.

Here we go again, the most boring conversation in cricket.

Comparing different types and going on and on about it.

The most boring conversation is surely whether Murali's bowling action is legal?

It doesn't mean as much as test matches, but it's still enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to watching the match next Saturday. Looking at Dernbach's reaction it means a lot to the players too.

It simple isn't it, don't like it...don't watch it!

I'm a test match > anything else fan too, but still watch & want England to win EVERY game we play.

personally i enjoy odis nd tests, but off late odis hv become boring. i think there is a over kill of the 50over format and i personally believe odi series shud be brought down to 3 match series. and make sure champions trophy and wc have enuf build up to it.

waiting for aus vs india atm.

Absolutely Marco which is why i , er, didn't watch it.
I am just wondering exactly who still really does enjoy it though as most of the people who i know like cricket don't seem to bother with it. Obviously any cricket will get the punters in over in India but i wonder over here if the one-dayers will get as many attendees as the Ashes does each day? Doubt it somehow

Problem with test cricket is that you get too many one sided contests like NZ V SA and Aus V SL. A complete bore off. Limited overs cricket at least levels the playing field and you get more exciting games.

Bantum, on a football notes, don't forget to get promoted! Sod the cup! I don't mind 50 over cricket, because it is cricket & not rounders like the 20 20 stuff. However nothing compares to test cricket, roll on March.

In the context of recent results for India, this series holds a lot of importance of them.Another series defeat will encourage media to start Dhoni exit talk allover again.

On the other hand this series presents England an excellent opportunity of winning ODI series in India for the first time after (only Allah knows) so many many years.

Wetherby, yes am getting a bit worried we need to start winning more league games. On the other hand, if you'd have told me could be in the final of the Capital cup and (potentially) win it I'd have bitten your hand off - trophies are just as important!
On the cricket side, I'll say it again Neon - i bet theres more sold out days over here in the Ashes series than there is in the one-dayers.

Like most on here I prefer test cricket but as an England fan I will watch them whenever they are playing whatever the format. One day cricket has always been popular and i don't think they will have any problem selling tickets for the matches against Australia. For the casual fan it means they go to the game and see a result on the day not a part of a match and a lot of people prefer that.

"comment by Neon - and on, and on, and on (U6361) Dr - on average, across the world..ODI cricket is watch more than test cricket."

On average, football is watched far more than cricket - doesn't mean it is better!

I must say I don't think England seem to take one day cricket as serious as test match cricket so why should the fans. No Anderson, Swann or Trott in this series.

I must say though I am very impressed with the emergence of Joe Root.

If anyone is bothered about the one dayers the actions and views can be found on this link.
