The fact is Barca and Real Madrid could only afford those sort of expenditures because of Tax fraud and illegal payments. Even then Madrid were only interested if they could recoup a lot of money through branding.
Thats why I have always doubted the Madrid links. Mbappe just doesn't have the brand for Madrid. And Barca are not in top financial shape.
To that extent I can understand Mbappe's family talking of us like an intermediary club to build his brand. Like C.Ronaldo did at Man Utd. However the premier league has jumped even Madrid and Barca in financial revenues because of the new TV deal. So I doubt he will think of Arsenal as a stepping stone in a couple of years if he joins us.

Any news over in Germany as to what's going on with him, Gt? Dortmund have a new head coach in place yet?

A lot talk of him in Germany.
He and his agent have gambled on a move to PSG.
PSG not interested in him anymore so that he stuck in Dortmund at the moment.
For Dortmund its crystal clear that the guy isnt willing to stay. They set an ultimatum till the end of July. After that point he wont leave Dortmund. That what Dortmund have to say to that issue.
Read recently that his desire to leave Dortmund is so great that even a move to China is a possibility.
Dortmund responsible saying that no offer has been made for him. Dortmund want at least 70M EUR for him.

Sanogo started versus Bayern is a match we didn't get humiliated in.
More importantly he played the entirety of the FA Cup final in which we finally broke our trophy drought.

I have absolute no clue. I think Wenger really trying to get Mbappe.
Lacazette surely is an option but not sure if Wenger really wants him because if he wanted him, he could have negogiate for him last year.
I feel sorry for Sanogo. His injuries done him for a higher level. Hope he finds a club maybe in the second League somewhere.

No one has ever seen the guy play, apart from YouTube clips (recently watched clips) but he'll probably be a 'good squad player'.
Just needs time to settle in. Couple of months should do it. Three tops.

I say both will stay. Özil sign a new contract. Sanchez probably not.
Think Ozil is staying, Gt. Didn't read the piece, but apparently he talks excitedly about travelling to Australia for pre-season.
Not very confident about Alexis though. Nor about us replacing him with anyone of similar stature in the game. Best way would be for us to make a surprise big name signing that might inspire him to sign that new contract offer.
I think the talk of letting him see out his current contract is just that. Talk. No way will we let him go on a free in a years time.
He has a simple beauty about him. Like a square.
