And what are our core strengths apart from Lacazette and Aubameyang? Lacazette missed sitters got very angry with himself and got sent off.

Lets not over react over half a result. Emery's job requirements haven't changed. So he has to fix it or he'll be gone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Its not just 1 result though. 7 defeats in the last 14 games is it?

Playing 5 at the back against bate is embarrassing. Emery's conservative approach has to change. Our best players are our strikers, use them properly.

It was also the hardest part of the season, missing Sokratis who has undoubtedly been the steady rock of the defence and Aubemeyang through illness.

My hope is that we get Sokratis/Kos till the end of the season and score goals with Laca/Auba. Thats it. Forget pretty football.

Get to the CL by whatever means and then sort out the squad.

Man Utd : LIV, ARS, MCI, CHE

Chelsea : TOT, LIV, MUN

Arsenal : TOT, MUN

Games left against the top sides. I think it will come down Arsenal at home against Man Utd. Chelsea are still in there but it depends on Hazard and what he has told the dressing room about staying or leaving.

I was about to write exactly the same thing. Since the start of the year, our away form started to look a lot like last season. If we don't manage to change this, then we have no chance to finish in the top 4.

I've had this conversation with J99 a million times.

We only have two games left against the top 6 sides, but that's not really my concern. Our away form is the biggest worry. Even if we get 4 points from United and Spurs, does anyone think we'll be favourites for 4th? We won't be.

J99 m8, your expectations of this squad and players is too high. Do not be surprised at all if we finish 6th. That's what I expect anyway.

I can easily see us dropping points in any of Wolves away, Everton away, Leicester away, Burnley away and Watford away.

I can see it in at least 3 of those.

'Fahmy shook his head over and over again, Vekatesham slumped in his chair while an ashen-faced Sanllehi soon headed for the exit. This was not the result anyone had been expecting against BATE.'

They were also at the London Stadium for the WestHam game.

I can see it happening in all of them. Seriously. That's how low my confidence is heading into any of those away games.

I trhink we need to be realistic. We can't defend to save our lives, even when setting up in a very defensive way.
So might as well try to set up in an attacking way and try to outscore the opponent.
The question is, can we do it from now on?

Thats been true for two seasons. We have seen some up turn in away form. So for example we have won 5 away games already where we only won that many the whole of last season.

Man Utd and Chelsea are also suffering from issues despite Ole's recent cheerleader effect. So a lot will cancel that out.

We have improved slightly in some respects e.g. away form compared to last season, reaching 50 points 5 games quicker than last season, scoring 74 goals in all competitions. But the scale of the improvement is not enough to get into the top 4, in my opinion, and with the horrific injuries we've had to some of our most important players, our lack of quality in depth has been shown up.

For what it is worth, I am slightly more optimistic for next season due to the wages we'll free up and the promising youngsters pushing for starting berth e.g. Reiss-Nelson, ESR. But a lot of it will also depend on how much we spend and where we spend our money in the transfer market.

If we do invest well in the Summer, I'll be a lot happier heading into the next season.

But that's a big 'if', as the club have a track record of letting us down.

Orbinho is currently tweeting some of our stats (from last seasons onwards). Feckin depressing.
Only won 6 of our last 22 away games. Those were Huddersfield (x2), Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff and Bournemouth.

The longest we've ever gone without winning the league (since we first won it) was 18 years

That gives us until 2022 to avoid breaking the record

I believe we will beat it unfortunately. I really can't see us winning the league with Stan as owner. Sadly

Really wishing that United had kept Mourinho until the end of the season

They look a class above both us and Chelsea atm.

Pogba finally starting to prove why United spent so much on him. Think he has 9 goals and 6 assists since Ole came in. Really doesn’t reflect well on Mourinho at all tbh when you contrast how they were playing before and how they are playing now.

Yep, and that it is without any addition at all as well.
I'm really struggle to see which big club will give Mourinho another chance.
