Rubbish game tbh. Didn’t think we played particularly well, it’s just BATE were garbage.

Although I’m hoping maybe the players weren’t as motivated due to the low-level quality of the opposition and they were perhaps conserving energy for the Southampton game.

Wasn’t a good display though.

At this stage, I'll take the 3 pts mate. We can hopefully deal with the display with the remaining games.
Another "easy" draw today will be good. I don't think we are particularly ready to face a tough opponent just yet.

Although what I will say is Lichtsteiner had one of his best games for us. Thought he did well yesterday.

Mustafi, even apart from his goal, was composed and assured.

Aubameyang worked really hard and deserved a goal

Iwobi did well first half, less impressive second half.

Micky’s end product is so poor though. He did everything right up until he needed to deliver a good ball/pass into the box. So annoying to watch.

Express:

Emery opted to recall Ozil after leaving him at home for the first leg and the highest-paid player in the club's history responded with a good display, linking up play well and showing flashes of his true ability which so often goes missing in games.

Mesut Ozil - 5 - The lesser spotted Ozil finally got his chance - and did not really take it. Some nice little moments, not much else.

I just wish fans and british pundits stop analysing Ozil's game by the number of sprints or tackles he makes.
His off the ball movement is the best in the team and this create so much space for the like of Iwobi or Auba to run into.
No one else in the team does that.

The only issue is I want to see something from the team to show that we can click and perform at a good level going into the bigger games we’ve got coming up. ROght now, there doesn’t seem to be much chemistry on the pitch.

You can attribute that to injuries or the poor quality of players we have, which is true, but I also want this team to prove me wrong.

We need 6/6 from Southampton and Bournemouth at home, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we dropped points in one of them.

Let’s hope for much better displays against those two.

We will have Laca and Torreira back for both games and I'd assume, we will see Ramsey coming off the bench.
If we don't drop Ozil, hopefully we can pick up some momentum

Cech - 5 - Rarely troubled. Made one good save. Poor distribution.

Licht - 6 - Honest day's work.

Mustafi - 7 - A goal to cap off an assured display

Koscielny - 6 - Comfortable til being replaced.

Monreal - 6 - made a couple of vital interceptions, caused some problems for BATE going forward.

Xhaka - 6 - Poor shooting from distance.

Guendouzi- 8 - Great ball retention, played some lovely forward passes. Drove the team.

Ozil - 6 - Unable to really break BATE down.

Iwobi - 6 - A constant out ball, didn't always use it well.

Mkhitaryan - 5 - Didn't seem to get involved at all.

Aubameyang - 8 - Really put himself about. Ran at defenders, created the own goal, won the corner for the second.


Sokratis - 7 - Solid, and got a goal.

Torreira- 6 - Game was dead when he came on, didn't do a lot.

Suarez - 5 - Unable to have an impact in a dead game.

Any news on what's up with Koscielny?

Emery didn't want his Achilles to Break.

What's the deal with Suarez? I'd have expected him to come on sooner last night.
He won't be playing much, will he?

He looks a very average player anyway.
