Xhaka took a couple of good corners, blasted about 20 shots well wide and passed the ball sideways.

Ozil didn't do that much.

Taking corners doesn't make you MotM

I honestly don't think dead ball kicks should be classed as assists - especially considering how poor ours generally are.

In fact I'd almost go as far as calling Xhaka's 'assist' last night flukes.

The strange thing is, most corners we took were short ones - even after we scored twice from corners put into the box. What is the mentality there?

I honestly think that what make some WC players stand out is not just their tricks or skills but also their football brain.
The lack of it in some modern players is quite alarming tbh.

IAWT, yeah I just realised Ben Arfa was there when Emery was and he didn’t have the greatest of times. He’ll definitely be out to prove a point.

Still reckon we should beat them, but we will need to be smart about how high we push up the pitch because they have some quick, tricky players in their team who can catch us if we don’t defend sensibly.

It will be tricky week of football and the players, manager and coaching staff need to handle proprely.
I'll be happy with 3 points and a win at Rennes tbh.
