Do love how the media will tell us in one story that we have a £40m budget, and then in the next link us to £300m worth of player

Read somewhere that CL wouldn't give us a huge amount extra percentage wise

Might help attract better players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think I read this somewhere. Apparently CL money is only a small fraction of our total revenue. Something like 8%.
Hard to believe.

Maybe we will sell Ozil, Mustafi and Xhaka for 250m?

Realistically, how much you guys think we would get for Xhaka? 26yo, swiss international whom has recently just signed a new contract?
I'm curious to know.

posted on 28/5/19

Somewhere between £20m and £30m I would guess.
Don't think we are interested in selling him, though.

is that all? If Pool can ask £25M for an uknown player, surely we should be getting much more for an established player

Its all about the market we are selling to. Cannot imagine a PL team wanting him, so it is to the second tier German sides like Leverkusen, Wolfsburg or back to Gladbach. Potentially the likes of the Milan clubs in Italy may see him as a signing, but again I doubt they will splash big money on him.

I'm sure West Ham or Everton will happilly bid for him if he were to be made available.

Doubt it, and I doubt even more he would go to either.

2-1 win tomorrow.

Honestly think we will lose and Spurs will win on Saturday.

Do we think we will go with the Ozil, Auba, Laca front 3 tomorrow?
Back 3 with Ains and Kola wing backs, Xhaka and Torreira in CM?

wtf happening to you m8. Be positive. We will win. Tomorrow, I'm doing the same journey I did for the FA cup vs Chelsea (so basically missing the game, again). That is good omen.

As for the CL final, hard to predict between two bottlers managers.
Can see it going to penalties and lasting forever.

Every team has injuries. Our investment in players in more than most.
It is clearly wasting that investment on players like Ozil, Mustafi and Xhaka who haven't improved the team at all.

Thankfully we are doing a bit better recently with the likes of Laca, Auba and Leno.
Just need to learn to make big profits on selling players now and we will be able to buy like Liverpool.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree.

In terms of injuries it has hindered us in some season where key players in key positions were longterm injured. It hit us more than our opponents as we havent brought players in over requirements.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Every team has injuries...

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You obviously struggle to read.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have one of the biggest squads, and all teams get injuries. Bad excuse.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not an excuse. It's a fact. You only need to look at our bench at times to come to that conclusion. Yes, other teams also have injuries but not longterm and not to key players. We had two or more key players out at the same time. It this goes on over more than this season.

Just the way the season has gone. Spurs getting mega luck against City and Ajax, us blowing the safety net of CL through our league position.

I'd probably block all the Spurs fans first and then watch the meltdown on the pool board before calling it a day

Add that we never act proactive in the market and only react in positions every other club knowing we are desperate to cover.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, those deadline day deals for Torreira, Leno and Sokratis last summer...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
????
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Proactive transfers...

And according to Monchi our plans for this summer are sorted. Proactive.

Get off the Wenger bus and see the change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I judge and measure them after the TW is closed and not what they are promising.

I don't know which links you have on our budget. All my links saying the same. We have little to spend. Surely a bit more if we reach CL. Our budget depends heavily on who is going out.

Thats true. There is also the joy of watching Klopp, the players, and the fans in tears at the end of the game.
