Not exactly no, who knows with our owners what will happen. They may let us slide into mid table mediocrity.
Plus we only just missed top 4...…………

I think there will be excuses if he isn't backed properly in the transfer market.
If our rivals are spending 3 or 4 times what we are, then we are expecting Emery to work wonders on a tight budget. Now, he's got history of this at Valencia and even Sevilla to a degree, but there is a lot more competition in this league than in La Liga.
Although I get the argument that "it's not just about money, it's about identifying the right players", having money certain does help to get those players. We will have to be extremely shrewd in this market and that is difficult to do when so many teams are vying for silverware/competing in the CL.
If Emery doesn't get CL football by May 2020, I believe he will go. But then any other manager we get in after him will face the same problems he has.

Buying players aint his job. Getting the best put of the ones he has is.
I'm talking about excuses like he is settling into the PL, he is changing mentalities, he hasnt got players to suit his style etc.
He has to adapt to what he has, and if he cant then he has to go.
One important job he has, imo, is to get some of our youngsters to a level where they play and become marketable. One good season for Nelson, for example, and he becomes an valuable asset that we could cash in.
Obviously never ideal to sell but that is the position we are in. People want us to "do a Liverpool" and that includes making players valuable assets you can sell to improve the team.

Wages:
1 x £18m+ a season
