Luiz is a good player, not someone I'd trust to be part of the starting pair all season but a good replacement for Kos at least

It's tricky because we've got a few young CBs who might well be top class in a few years so it could be a case of intentionally going for one who while decent only has a limited shelf life

(my preference would be to sign a top defender anyway)

Luiz was the best option for us with little money left to spend. Luiz with Sokratis will be good, but Luiz with Mustafi

At the end of last season we needed : a midfielder, and exciting winger, a CB, a right back and a left back.

We got everyone except a right back. Hopefully AMN can continue to do a good job there

Prime Maldini with Mustafi would still be terrible

David Luiz will do fine.

I hope this means Mustafi does not start again.

Luiz is a very good signing. Experienced, good passer and his all around game is good. We needed an experienced guy at the back. For that price as well....very good deal for us.

That we take him is a big suprise because he signed a new contract at Chelsea for a months or so.

Very happy with his signing.

What is worrying is that Spurs have got an equally good transfer window.

Sky saying he could be moving to Ligue 1 before the end of the transfer window, possibly on loan though.

Luiz is also a top player in a 3 man formation. I suspect Monreal may also be on the way out.

Monaco? If it is a loan I assume it will be with an obligation to buy!

We need everyone now ....many cup games ahead. Enough time for every player to play.

Spurs looking like signing Lo Celso, Sessegnon and Dybala today.

I can't lie, they are all very good players. I hope they flop.

Even it's a loan for Mustafi. Time is running out at Arsenal. His contracts expire in 2021

Club wasn't mentioned, they just said there is interest in him from the French league.

Maybe just give Mustafi the Europa group stage and early League Cup matches to help rebuild his confidence, before selling him in January.

If he’s staying we might as well use him to some degree.

meh. Sessegnon was found out last season, very average. Dybala highly overrated and Juve are dumping him for a reason. Lo Celso is decent but will find it hard to adapt to EPL

How did you get to that idea?

Lo Celso has a £88m release clause but they are agreeing to sell him for £55m. Says it all. Buying from Mid-table Spanish clubs is very dangerous. Just look at our Mustafi problem!

Sessegnon never lived up to the expectation in the prem. So much was expected of him. They are over paying!

Dybala has just been replaced by Ramsey! In a creative position. Just take that in. He was a top prospect 2 or 3 years ago but his career has just stalled. Thats why Juve have been trying to flog him to anyone who would take him!

How did I get the idea they are very good players? Maybe because they are very good players? Them moving to Spurs doesn't mean they instantly because rubbish.

I just hope that they will have the same effect as the 'magnificent 7' did from 2013.

Sceptical about Dybala if I am honest. Not the guy who really wants to move abroad. United couldnt get him because of money. He wont move for peanuts to Spurs. He will earn a lot of money I guess.....

If those deals go through, Spurs will have had a very good window, especially as it seems Eriksen and Toby will stay put.
That will make them definitely be in the top 3.

largely depends at how Poch uses him. If he plays alongside Kane then he will cause problems, if he is pushed out wide he will be a flop
