David Luiz leaving Arsenal at end of season. 34yo told club today + they agreed. #AFC had not offered new deal & even if they did the Brazil int’l defender wouldn’t have signed as decision had been made to go
----------
One done, plenty more to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't lie, I'm a little bit upset that he's going. He put in some big performances for us, was our best ball-playing CB and an important figure in the dressing room.
I know he wasn't perfect, and it makes sense that he's going (high wages, lack of European football etc), but I did like Luiz.
I wish him well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is good news. Time to make way for Saliba.
We need to get rid of him and many more.
Martin Odegaard will want to know that Mikel Arteta is to remain as manager before he considers signing for Arsenal, according to Nigel Winterburn.
There are several variables that could affect the deal such as his price tag and whether Zinedine Zidane remains as manager in Madrid.
But Winterburn also feels as if Arteta's future could prove crucial with Odegaard unlikely to remain at Arsenal if they axe their manager.

Don't mind MO on loan for another year but not done enough to convince me he's worth buying

Same here. A reasonable price and not what the media reporting or another loan is okay for him. He surely can perform better than he recently showed.
He's shown that he can GT Just need to see it more consistently to be worth keeping
Not sure if he's picking up bad habits/being coached badly or just lost that drive a bit
He’s not been on form since getting injured for Norway.
Just find it interesting how so many people outside the club keep pushing the ‘Arteta’s lost the dressing room’ line, when those playing for him seem anything but disillusioned.
They must have a lot of fun in training cos between our performances on the pitch and the stuff he comes out with in interviews I wouldn't imagine they'd be that happy
Staff at #AFC are under the impression that midfielder Granit Xhaka intends to leave. [@TheAthleticUK]

TEARS IN EYES. FINALLY XHAKA-19 IS A GONER
Staff are under impression....whatever that means?
If he is going to leave so be it. For every midfielder that leaves must one come in. Hopefully a better one.
Willock with another goal. This time vs City.

Ljungberg on Willock: "If you use him as a box-to-box, he comes late into the box, he will score goals and he’s just as quick as Aubameyang when he opens up his legs.”

His dynamic is very good. A bit like Ramsey's.
Hope he signs a new contract with us and he develops further next season. Good loan spell at Newcastle.
Willock under a top class coach would be amazing. ESR, Saka, Martinelli, Saliba and Nelson under a top class coach would be amazing. Even a 2bob coach like Steve Bruce was able to get great form out of Willock.
Shame Arteta is such a shiete coach.
Did tell y'all about willock. Guy knows where the goal is.
This loan has been so good for him
All our youngsters are very good. Shame we didn't keep Freddie at the club. He had experince of working with the kids.

That’s a sacrifice I am very happy to make. Odegaard looks a decent player but nowhere near good enough to make it worth keeping Arteta around
Tbh I’d be surprised if Odegaard stayed next season anyway. My point was more that it’s funny how all the young, talented, and promising players seem to back Arteta, whilst the ones that have let us down time and time again seem to be the unhappy ones...
Gabriel and Martinelli have both been called up to the Brazilian Olympic squad.
If it goes ahead.
Listen, Arteta in or Arteta out but the same old sheite dross walking away from this club can only be a good thing. There's been a few common factors in our decline the last half decade: KSE and a "core" of dross (Leno, Bellerin, Xhaka, Lacazette, etc.)
Now I won't be convinced that Arteta is the right man to lead a fresher, more hungrier group of young players into the future, but surely getting rid of the same players that have let us down time and time again can only be a good thing.
Having said all that, just read about Lacazette being offered an extension.
