In Sunday there was little inversion from Cala at all.
There was inversion and Mbuemo had a free run
There wasn't though. Cala held his position on the left.
Cala is the most genuine full back we have. Rarely steps inside
the one where casemiro sent the ball to Mbuemo after the turnover, cala was very central trying to attack, we shouldn't have turned over there
That isn't playing an inverted role though, that is reacting to the match situation in attack. The inverted role is when the left back comes in alongside the DM to allow the left sided midfielder to play more advanced consistently.
What you are saying is like saying MLS was playing right back because that situation where he lost the ball and got booked he was in the right back position.
Yeah looked more like he just got caught up the pitch
We're unlikely to get away from the inverted fullbacks because of Arteta's caution. It’s a way for him to flood the midfield and stifle the opposition.
And Calafiori does tend to get into more attacking positions like a conventional fullback, even though he's a tall CB playing LB. MLS basically plays at LB the way Partey played at RB - clearly a midfielder playing fullback.

So why bring it up in the conversation? It isn't Electronic Super Cup football where players can only run in a straight line along the groove...

I was making a point that he was attacking when he got caught out and not exactly inverting, the issue wasn't so much him but that we shoud'nt have turned over there, Odegaard made the wrong decision, he should've passed back to Cala who was in a better position imho

You've made me tune in... I only seem to listen to talksport these days to laugh at Tottenham
The meltdown after the super cup has me belly laughing
I am trying to get as much talksport in as possible between meetings today.
