Careful what you wish for.

I am astounded at the level of criticism on here today.

"You don't honestly believe the David notes hype?"

What, that he's a very good manager? Yes. The facts are there to back it up...

2 wins is all we need but with how bad the team is playing it seems easier than it probably will be.

I deplore this idea that "you wouldn't be top without Sir Alex". What garbage.

We would. We have the best squad by a considerable distance, and due to the depth and variety of this squad is why we remain where we are.

I don't want Sir Alex to leave, but I can guarantee that with the pick of any progressive manager - not Moyes - then we would play more attractive football, achieve a balanced XI, eradicate mindless rotation, play more cohesively and get more out of the naturally gifted members of our team.

Our squad is the best, and this is backed up by our gap at the top even with crazy managerial decisions and loss of form from our wingers. Our football, however, is not the best. I don't think it will be until Sir Alex makes way for somebody more modern.

Rival fans are critical of our squad and it isn't fair. It's brilliant. And it's only two acquisitions away from achieving something special. I'd pity the rest of the league if we had a manager that would get the best out of Kagawa and Nani, get in a combative midfielder and play consistent teams every week. Combined with our defence containing Vidic, we'd be nigh on unbeatable.

"but I can guarantee"

No, you can't.

And often fans that think they are right end up being proven wrong.

Admittedly, this often happens at the other end of the table. Perhaps that is because questioning someone that has achieved the success SAF has is a rarity.

No, I can.

I can guarantee you that the pick of managers in Europe would not be playing a 40 year old in midfield, a centre forward on the wing, a centre forward in midfield and a central defender in midfield. I can also guarantee they would not rotate as often. Some people are blinded. We rotate more than any side in Europe. This isn't a positive. It's why we're awful in bigger games. No cohesion, fluidity or shape.

I as good as guarantee that a new manager - a Klopp or Jose - would have us playing better football. They've proven they can do that. And our squad of players is as talented as anything out there.

I don't know why people are scared of like after the great man. I don't want him gone at all, but when he does there are positives to be taken. Fresh ideas with a great squad in place created by Sir Alex.

I actually have evidence to back up this claim. There was a manager called Sir Alex Ferguson, who did this years ago.

Unfortunately, we seem to have misplaced him

Why would you bother writing something like that?

You cannot guarantee any outcome from a hypothetical situation.

If you can't accept that, then there's no room here for reasoned debate.

"Moyes is a decent manager but he has no championship winning experience."

He would if he was managing our squad. In fact I'd bet he would have the title done a dusted by now. And we would probably still be in the FA cup...

LOL you think Moyes could do a better job than Fergie? Fecking idiotic thing to say.

How much earlier do you want the thing wrapped up? Pathetic.

I've read some crap on here this morning but that takes it to a whole new level.

On present form, yes.

honest question ..

do you think your current squad of players would win the title if alex ferguson was not at the helm?

.........................................

Yes.

I don't think any other manger in the prem would keep playing so many players out of position.

I also think most other managers would play a set core of players on a more regular basis.

"Based on what?"

I'll try that again. Current (present) form.

Personally I think that would be a bad move. But I respect your opinion.

Wintson

We can be pedantic and take guaranteed in its literal form if you like. I can't guarantee the world will be here tomorrow, but odds on, it probably will be.

Now, if it makes you feel better, for the sake of "reasoned debate" I will alter my stance and say that I'm 99.9% certain our next manager will be more progressive, rotate less, play players in position and not play 40 year olds in two man central midfields. Better?
