Javier Hernandez.- his movement is remarkable, not got great all round ability but is a poacher. Not many around these days.
Stan Petrov. -First saw him in 1999, was excellent for us and I think MON really helped him flourish.
Olof Mellberg- Played so many tournaments for Sweden (7 I think?) and has been sensational. Loved him at Villa. What I like in a centre-half.
Shunsuke Nakamura- His free-kicks were literally like getting a penalty. One of the best deliverers of the ball I've ever seen.
Good article!
And I can't STAND ashley young!
Spurs wise recently, I love Holtby, for absolutely no reason other than he seems so committed / passionate. This always makes fans forgive less than perfect talent, if they look like they'd run into the ground for the shirt. I also think he could potentially become great - wait and see.
Other clubs, I always loved Drogba, just an incredible centre forward you can't help but admire him.
Echo the crouch shout, great to have something different even.
Also Tore Andre Flo, great player without being spectacular. A bit like Soljskaer.
I dont even know why but I always rated that Matt Taylor
At Spurs I love Assou Ekotto, if he does leave in the summer I'll be gutted.
I dont know why either but I always think Kyle Walker is a priick. I saw an interview with him once and he seemed so sound but its just the way he looks.
I loved Pavlychenko even when he was rubbish and slow but to be fair we could do with now!

arjen robben is a bottling
Great article
I've always loved Beckham. I get why others aren't a fan of his, but the way he played for England. Whilst he had limitations as a player, his free kicks and crosses were absolute magic.
Always had a soft spot for Damien Duff - just like the way he plays.
For us - Steffen Iversen. Never REALLY did it for us, but I remember one preseason he scored goals aplenty, was given the no 10 shirt (got it on my back) and was just willing him to do well and always stood up for him. Made me follow Norway too. Him, Flo and Ole Gunnar up front.

Flashy - sounds just like me! I absolutely loved Iversen, despite him never really doing it on the pitch. When he did score I would be happy for days!
These were in the days of Spurs Monthly, before the internet took over, and the reporting in there would make average spurs players sounds like the best in the world
Henrik Larsson - A selfless player that always made the game look easy. He proved himself at Barcellona and is one of those players I wish had been in the Premiership earlier. The amount of time he spent at Celtic was incredible and makes me wonder what else he could have achieved if he had been elsewhere.

I always like Henry too. I love that interview where it's not long after Fabregas started
"was it a penalty"
"say yes"
"yes"
lol
Teddy...
I fell in love with his very first touch for spurs... He just took sooo much care of the football. He feet just loved and cherished that inflatable ball of leather
Teddy for me too. Even when he went to ManU and won Champions League I was really happy for him.
He was also a great header of the ball - real accuracy and delicate touch to find the corner of the net and with power too when necessary. Strangely enough Bale's heading ability reminds me a bit of Teddy - I think it's an underrated aspect of his game.
