2013-The year new & obscure ways are found to justify finishing 5th in the league. Call me old fashioned, but I always thought the aim of this beautiful game of ours was to win trophies?

Bit rich coming from a Liverpool fan, no? You out spent us and finished 8th.

id we? Net figures are pointless as the outgoing players didn't help you achieve your league position. I suggest you look at the gross figures.
So you did buy Carroll for £35 million then and not the laughable excuse you use of Torres + £15 million
Doovde
How's it an argument? It's an 'alternative look at how each club spends its money'. It's not my fault it doesn't show Spurs in the best light.
Just playing you at your own game.
Someone should start handing out off topic s
Scouser's don't like this one
Liverpool can buy 7th place in the league and it only cost them £697,000 per point more than the team finishing above them.
And we got paid £775,000 more to do so in prize money
Doovde
"Liverpool spent £150,000,000 to win the same trophy'
Did we? Where've you got them figures from?
Dr Phil
Ah Phillip. What will Everton do with that massive £700,000? Maybe you could use it to win another.........oh .
We know what Brendan would do with it don't we,it could possibly buy Liverpool another point so they'd still be stuck in 7th.
Absolute joke when you hear all the Liverpool supporters praising Brenda when all he's done is spend £52 million to keep you in mid table
Dr Phil
You've gone from spend per points to spend per place. Not like you to change the goal posts .
you were the one who asked what Everton would do with the money.I merely suggested that in the scheme of things Brendan with all his expertise might just be able to eek another point out with it.

Dr Phil
The difference being. Although we spend a lot. We still win trophies. Which would you prefer, spend little and not won anything for 18 years? Or spend a lot and win a trophy every now and again?
You never did give us the spend per trophy for Everton, wonder why? .

FFS Phil, if we're mid table as you suggest - where are Everton?
"I could also point out that other teams have new and larger stadia "
Who are these teamS you're referring to?
I'll give you Arsenal for sure, but you're so keen to stress the plurality of it so, who are the others who have these "new & larger stadia"?
to all the teams who've won the Champions League
at the teams who had a couple of good matches in the Champions League and won the 'Bale had a good match trophy'
at Everton for almost getting into the groups once only to be humiliated and not get there
I gave a little thought for everyone
Because I'm a people person.
Everton are also a mid table side Greasey is that a suitable answer for you
You call 6th/7th mid table?
What do you call teams finishing 9th/10th/11th?
Greasey I believe City have a newer and larger stadium than Liverpool and Manchester United have increased their capacity by circa 20,000 during the premiership years.
Where are Everton....
Above Liverpool again after spending very little again!
Next question.

I will try to explain this simply for you. What is 20 divided by 3...its just under 7.But looking at the points difference between 5th and 6th then classing the top 5 teams as top of the table is a simple thing to do.From 6th-14th would be midtable and 15th and below bottom of the table.I f you really want to be pedantic then top 6 bottom 6 and midtable would comprise of 8 teams
ManU have they increased there stadium to 20,000 it its a shame they can't fill there stadium without fiddling the attendance figures
The top6 and 15 players from Liverpool's squad would be in the top tier
Good God
Another desperate attempt by the maris pipers to salvage something... anything from this season.
If you like random stuff like this then hear this - Since the formation of the Prem, Tottenhams spend per trophy is a quarter of a billion.
Get a load of that - a quarter of a billion for the league cup
