I hope he succeeds but I am not convinced one person can make any difference.

Cyclists are the most tested athletes in sport yet they still think they can get away with it.

A cyclist can not dope on his own. It has to be with the knowledge, support and backing from others around him i.e. doctors, team managers etc.

I think the governing body is more concerned with minimising adverse publicity than they are with dishing out meaningful penalties.

Astute points and i completely agree.
The whole sporting system (imo) is rotten to the core but for me mcquaid is just soooo bad it would make me just relieved to not read another horrow show from fat pat.

They want to be seen as making an effort. But in reality they aren't doing nearly enough and they know it.
I think drug use is rife in most sports. A drugs scandal ruins the credibility of a sport, so they (imo) do what they must do hush this up in order to preserve the sports popularity.
