Root stays as opener for me. Once England made the decision to open with Root you have to give him a decent 'go at it'.

Also his dismissal in the first innings was a top delivery from Siddle it wasn't as though he played poorly.

Better than Bairstow? Absolutely no chance. Bairstow has put in some runs, albeit limited so far, and shown flair as well as talent.

Taylor looked completely out of his depth at international level, those innings vs South Africa were painful just to watch.

Taylor did make 30 odd but agreed, he looked out of his depth and like he would go out at any point.

He did have Steyn, Morkel and Philander bowling at him though

I think we need Youngs to play some quick ball and get it wide to counter their blitz defence.

Bairstow stepped up and proved a point when it mattered, hence why he is playing now and hence why he went on tour with England. Bairstow has the flair, but from what I have seen from Taylor the guy has the more capabilities of scoring those solid runs. Don't judge just against the best team in the world. Pretty harsh on him.

I think we need to counter their P+R game and try and go high off the screen as their driving capabilities do not surpass their pull-up game. Couple early scores to unnerve them and the series should be ours.
