Fellow mix martial arts fan

I feel Silva was worried. He knew Weidman was dangerous and most likely hurt/stunned him in the first round. He wanted to pull Weidman into his game but smartly he avoided it and made him pay for his disrespectful actions. Couldn't be happier.

He has 10 more fights, yet he says he wnt fight 4 the belt again?

Surely if he wins his fights he will be mandatory?

Bizarre.

Weidman will regret winning this fight.

Silva might kill him in the re match.

Just watched it again, Silva is too experienced and 2 clever to do that showboating against a heavy handed fighter. Not saying it was rigged, but Imo Silva threw this fight.

OMG i love it - used to really respect Anderson as a fighter until all the ott stuff started, and since the fight in which he spent the whole 1st few rounds crawling about i wanted someone really to smash his face in - Sonnen gave me half that wish with 4.75 rounds of Silva face smashing and Weidman has now completed. SIlva is one of the best figheters around but after this i would be quite happy never to see him fight in the UFC again.

Simon I agree, it was I think it was the maiya fight where he started flair fighting. He used 2 be humble and quiet then became cocky. However I think on Sat he either threw it intentionally or hot caught slippin!

Weidmann was gassed after trying 2 wrestle Silva and the fight was destined for standup and subsequently Silva winning as per striking usual.
However he exposed his chin like a gift to the heavy hitter....exposed to a heavy hitter!!! This is a guy who has fought the best in the company and knows what heis doing, so yesterdays show was so bizzare even 4 his showboat standards, add that 2 the post fight interview I just think he purposefully came to mess about. Weidmann is a good fighter, but he didnt WIN that fight, he got it gifted 2 him. Chael however was a challenger who fought a title winning fight.

Ah fair enough about the football board - that is a tad unfair, but until i have watched the fights i dont go on facebook/twitter/related boards. Too many people watched it live etc, i made the mistake of jumping on a Brazilian news website and the 1st thing i saw was stuff on the Silva fight, tried to ignore it but the damage was done, didnt know how he lost though, and in this case was 75% the enjoyment of the fight.

Seriously, a live event will be talked about immediately. If you miss it and see a spoiler that's your fault. Also when you see the headline UFC 162....that's a pretty big alert I would think.

I actually feel quite bad for weidman, the way silva handed him the fight will take all credit away from him, by the sound of silvas interview a rematch won't be on the cards either.

Silva at 38 isnt a cat like fighter anymore, weidmann wouldnt have beat Silva imo, if Silva took the fight seriously.

"Credit has to be given to weidman, unlike all the others that have tried,he managed to finish silva. He actually won the 1st round as well"

--------

This is spot on. Silva got dominated on the ground in the first round, so tried to impose his style onto the fight more by trying to make Weidman make mistakes.

He showed no respect and got deservedly sparked out. The greatest MMA fighter of all time in my opinion. But I've got no time for those sort of antics.

Couldn't be happier he lost.

Silva DID take the fight seriously. It's ridiculous people still think that he didn't. This is what he does. It just finally made him look stupid
