Sensationalist comments on ja606 again.

Valdes was exceptionally good at defending one-on-ones at Barca, which the team needed with their high defensive line

fair comments Edin

there is now a wave of revisionism in Britain, about Pep's Farza team and the Spain team that won everything...they weren't that good after all,

which is utter BS

and this is from a Real Madrid fan

Spurs don't look quite so menacing on paper with Son spearheading the attack. If Alli isn't in goalscoring form, Spurs will really struggle.

I don't deny they were the best in the world. But it was Xavi that made them great, not Messi, and Valdes was their weak link.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

yes the importance of xavi was huge to Farza and Spain

after all who won 3 major international titles on the bounce, messi-less spain, or messi's argies

Dembele is so strong, virtually impossible to muscle him off the ball.

I don't think it's as cut and dry as saying Xavi, not Messi, made Barca great.

How many big games did Messi win them. How effective would Xavi have been without Busquets doing the dog work and a partner like Iniesta? How good would the pre-Messi Barca have been without Ronaldinho and Eto'o? Barca weren't exceptional because of one player. They were great because they had a number of exceptional players. Take any one of Busquets, Xavi, Messi, Iniesta, Ronaldinho or Eto'o out of those great Barca sides and they wouldn't have been the same team.

Dont go for the bait TLL
Ttliv hates Messi so any opportunity to discredit him he will stick to it like a fly on faeces.

No point engaging him on this even at the lowest level

His end product isn't great, although as you typed that he jus made the assist for Eriksen!

I may have used the word "sheit" which was harsh but for a player of his ability his lack of awareness of his team mates and their movements is horrific.Youth level stuff.

Still has the best ball control of top midfielders and is as strong as an Ox. If you could do a brain transplant and give him Cesc's brain he would be almost as good as Vieira

Everybody but us always play so crap against Spurs while we beat them with ease, so weird.
