ITV fuming that Podolski is getting a good send off.

Lets see what they do when Rooney calls it a day...
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Might have already played his last game...pretty poor send off in comparison.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He should just be thankful his career lasted for as long as it did despite him being rubbish for so long, including his captaincy during England's worst ever tournament result.

Rooney has been part of teams that underachieved. You wouldn't think it was a team effort to be so sh*t though. The way he gets crucified you'd think it was all him.

It isn't just him, but I'm surprised he didn't get more stick over the Iceland performance considering he was our experienced captain and completely fell apart when the going got tough.

Precisely. He wasn't even the worst player at the last tournament. That one goes to Harry Kane who was absolute waaaank

And Kane got plenty of stick for it, to the point people use that against him when rating him as a player in the PL.

Not much stick for Rooney our captain who couldn't even trap a ball against Iceland though, even if he was generally ok for the group stages.

Errrrr think you'll find Rooney has had untold stick throughout the years from many supporters and rightly so. Even now I myself and many others skate him. Still in regards to euros it's not just him and being captain means feck all. They were all utter dross and not one really should be singled out

Club loyalty and bias aside, Rooney has been sht for ages. Way past his sell by date.

I'm talking about the Iceland game, the worst result and probably performance in England history. You should get renewed criticism just for that game alone. Kane was awful and so was Rooney, and I tend to agree that the captaincy means little but it should stand for something in times of need from an experienced head and Rooney perhaps had the worst mental collapse of anyone.

Anyway, Podolski can hold his head up high for his tournament performances over the years whereas Rooney not so much. That's the point I guess.

Rooney played at least 35 times more for England than he should have, in my opinion. Never performed in major tournaments either. Has won nothing at International level.

Podolski has a WC winners medal and that is the difference between him and Rooney

Cope say #MUFC offered €80m for Mbappe last month but increased it to €110m after #MCFC-Monaco clash in Manchester on 21st February.

110m euros

Beg to differ. The role of the captain is important. Gerrard in the CL final in 2005 springs to mind. Rooney was the leader on the pitch against Iceland, and the most experienced player in the squad. It was down to him to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and lead by example.

There's always a load of sh*t written about transfers, often attaching United's name to them to drum up interest/get other clubs to act.

Hopefully this is the case. Obscene amounts of money.

Yep and he seems to have escaped the criticism that should come from that. The fact that he still remains captain now just shows how much he's got away with it.

That's a royally stupid thing to say!
Rooney still has much to offer this England team, even if it should be from the bench. He can still put the ball in the net from distance, something today's team could not do - to wit, our own Delli Alli.

I agree he has something to offer the Welsh team, more specifically Galen Bale and that is the number for his hair transplant clinic but I'm afraid that is it!
