Yep. Passing it out passively from the back against a pressing Liverpool side is suicidal. Though in the second half if Liverpool tire it might work better

That’s why VVD can’t make all the difference. Terrible from the full back, Matip (the guy who will partner VVD) backs off then jumps in and gets sidestepped as though he’s not there, then the keeper beaten at the near post.

It was a top bit of skill to get into the position, but I think both keepers will be thinking they should have saved the goals

The whole "keepers shouldn't get beaten at their near post" is one of the weirdest football myths. Even if you're well positioned, you can be beaten by the sheer power of a shot. It wasn't exactly an unstoppable goal by Sane, but that doesn't mean it was a keeper error.
