This. International football is about shape. They were a touch defensive in the 1st half with an intention to stay in the game. I suspect a lot of top teams will struggle against teams like Croatia and Portugal if they don’t start well.

Obviously Croatia are better than Portugal because they pass and defend better but these tactics work

The pundits are saying the Argentina goalie will have to live with his mistake for ever. Whilst when De Gea made an even worse mistake, they said well all goalies are allowed a mistake of two.

If Iceland and Nigeria draw, or Nigeria win, and Croatia beat Iceland, then Argentina only have to win 1-0, so goals will not matter.

Pogba will never have an easier game if they do play Argentina, as their midfield is non existant.

If the Argies get knocked out expect the Falklands to be dragged up, it what they do when they want to bury bad news.

The way Iceland play, wouldn’t be the biggest shock at this moment in time, if they ended up going through.
Argentina’s saving grace is the fact Nigeria are awful and have even worse set up.

But Croatia will probably get 9/9 points so there’s still hope for Argentina. However this tournament is going all wrong.

If Iceland win against Nigeria I think they’ll get a draw against Croatia. Argies will probably fail to beat Nigeria anyway.

Supposing Iceland and Nigeria draw, then Croatia would already be group winners and would likely rest most of their first team in their final game.

If Iceland do beat Nigeria, then Argentina need a Croatia win and a 4-goal swing, while a draw between Croatia and Iceland would probably serve to fulfill both team's ambitions.
