Giroud was the Guivarch of this tournament. He's gonna get credit for how hard he works and all that BS, but in reality, he was a useless lump. Deschamp didn't drop him cos the super-conservative caant refused to take the risk of changing a "winning team".

Since he didnt listen to so call experts this team grow into this tournament. But you are clueless about everything and have an excuse

France were just as poor in other matches as that game that Dembele started. Giroud did not improve France in any way. No goal. Not even a facking shot on target. Just a SHOT ON TARGET! Sloppy and ponderous on the ball as always, so you can't even say he was there to be a focal point. Sorry, but your hero is a useless lump.

He changed it after the second game. You are too hard on Deschamps. Have a word with yourself. If Giroud had scored 4 penalties like Kane you would be saying something different.

Giroud and Kane don't belong in the same sentence at all to be honest. I'm not being too hard on him. He played 7 matches for the World champions and didn't even muster a shot on target. That is just ridiculous.

First of all he isnt my hero.

Secondly the one shot on target isnt true. But thats not my point. Not having scored isnt good for a striker. I agree. Does that mean he has been bad?

You're surely one of the kind that thinking scoring 3 goals and having 2 deflected goals is world class and enough for a striker. I dont judge players not on their goals.

In the system that Deschamp have played Giroud was the right player in the right position. A team player, hard working with defense tasks and made spaces for the heros. If you think he is crap its up to you. His success in his career and what the lampost has achieved with not having the most natural talent is nothing more than amazing. I have nothing more than respect.

Giroud played his role, which was to enable Greizmann and Mmmbop to get goals.

This stat is not right. He would have score the first goal in the first game but Mbappe put it over the line.

Having thought about this some more .......

1. France
2. Belgium
3. Croatia
4. Brazil
5. Uruguay
6. Japan
7. Russia
8. England
9. the rest in some order.

Anyways I have to say the japan team was worth watching. England not so much.
Belgium ought to replay France for top spot.
Croatia really were a surprise to me.
And they got the short end of refereeing decisions in the final. E.g., the Griezman dive should never have been a FK.
