I don't believe Iniesta is superior to Gerrard or Lampard. He excels at a different facet of the game which needs excellent players like those Barca and 2008-2012 Spain had in abundance to complement his qualities. They couldn't do what he does. I remember the days when English fans looked down on tippy-tappy players like Iniesta and Xavi, until Barca took apart Man U in that CL final in 2009, and then people went too far in overcompensating the other way in devaluing the qualities of the Gerrards and Lampards of the world. I wouldn't even have swapped Fabregas (in his Arsenal prime) for Iniesta. As gifted as Iniesta is, you have to recognize he does have limitations too and can't focus only on his technique. You might think you're a bigger fan of him than me but you're not. Iniesta was my favourite footballer after Messi through his career, but I do believe people overrate him.
