Really have to win all your games nowadays agains the dross. The pace set at the top is relentless.

City have gone and set a ridiculous standard now. Might end up with a few teams getting over 90 points in 1 season, the way it's going.

Tommy Egan to be fair they fluked quite a few results. Mourinho 1st season we were battering teams but couldn't finish. We should really fighted for the title that season.

No chance.

I reckon only 2 teams will max hit 90 over 1 season.

Its funny last season Man Utd were extremely lucky in the league and this season it is the complete opposite, nearly every mistake punished and generally need a decent amount of chances to score.

What a show we put on after Leicester scored.

No other PL team could have done that. Not even City.

3rd goal was magic.

Absolute nonsense. Even this season De Gea has saved your ass a number of times in the final minutesl

Well you had 2 teams get over 90 in La Liga back when Pep was there, and it's a bit more competitive here in terms of the number of teams.

90s is unrealistic, City the only team consistent enough to reach those levels.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the points requirement for top four hit a record though. It was 76 when we pipped Arsenal a couple of years back. Might have to get 80 this season.

Not that unrealistic for another team to make 90 other than City. We were only 4 off it when Chelsea got 93 points.

Yeah those Madrid and Barca teams were ridiculous. There’s no chance you’ll have a few teams getting over 90 points. And your argument for more competition actually works against you, as these teams take points off each other. Getting carried away as per, Spurtle.

Shut up Darren

You do realise teams can drop points and still get to the 90 point mark?

posted on 22/10/18

Of course, but having more competition outside of the two top teams reduces the chance of that being achieved doesn’t it? Which is why it’s never happened here. Not difficult to realise the flaw in your argument.

Can see both City and Liverpool getting to 90

Yeah well, 100 points had never happened here either and that changed. While Pep is in charge of City and they're playing like this I think there's more chance of it happening now than at any other point. At least one of the chasing pack could make it.

People are overawed more by the strength of Liverpool's squad than how they're actually playing. Like Spurs and Arsenal, they probably have more points at this stage of the season than they should. Surprised how often insipid their football has been. They were on the wum in that Napoli match in particular.

posted on 22/10/18

I just don’t see it. Points will dropped at a more regular rate as the season goes on. It’s not sustainable for the teams at the top of the table to be picking up points at the rate they have.

Not sure how Liverpool have more points than they should.
Sloppy finishing had stopped us scoring more goals, but our defense is immense, and our forward line will eventually click, so we are where we deserve to be, and will only get stronger.

The early kick offs today are not the most interesting prospects. Although if AEK can get a result Kovac will surely be in big trouble.
