Getting Ozil to take a wage cut would be a big stumbling block, Tu Meke.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just put a "big game away from home" clause in the contract. He'll get peanuts.

We got Aubameyang because we sold Ox, Walcott, Giroud as well Sanchez wages.

If we buy big, our board will always sell to break even
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I actually realised we spent £60m on Auba, not £75m. My bad.

And you’re right, but I think we’ve got a bit more money to spend than the club are letting on. We made quite a lot from player sales last season. And we didn’t spend a huge deal in the Summer either.

But even if we do, I wouldn’t want us to see us splash out £50/£60m on players unless it is a clear top class talent (like Auba was).

We may just have to spend money a bit wiser and shrewder.

Why pay more for Torrier than you had to then?

His release clause was 22m and you paid 26m so you could pay in instalments.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Amortisation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fancy name for Cheap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We can't all sell players for well above their market value. Wenger had to deal with a lot of crap in his final years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like Chelsea bought us Andy Carrol, Couts paid for Van Dijk & Allison.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You did well even on the Carroll sale tbf. Got about half of what you paid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yer, £18m for him was fracking great money.

The whole thing that January was bizarre, how can you get one signing so right in Suarez and so Wrong in that big useless caaaaaaant.

As Tu said, amortisation.

But tbh, an extra £4m over several seasons is fack all. It’s like a bank charge.

Even if we’d paid the £26m up front, it’s not really a big deal either way is it? It’s not as if we paid double the price to get him. A few extra mill isn’t going to cause us to significantly tighten our purse strings on other players.

You only had to pay 22m in one go though, not like it’s 80m is it?

Good player though.

Nah he’s a good defender. We have far worse than need moving on.

posted on 15/12/18

He’s better than most of what you have but he’s still average.

He’s better than average. Good pl level defender. Problem is we need much better.

Anyone watching the best league in the world? Hibs scored in the first minute against Celtic despite being the worst team in the league at the moment. Anyone can beat anyone in this league. That's what makes it the best in the world.

This must be the flukiest unbeaten run going, Arsenal have been so average in a large majority of these games
