Well, Monreal, Lichtsteiner, Welbeck, Cech, Ospina and Ramsey will all be off the books in the Summer. That will free up our wage bill to sign better players.

The last top class player we technically lost on a free was Sanchez, although we swapped him for Micky, and to be fair to him, he's actually been brilliant for us in the last month or so.

Sanchez can't say the same. Horrendous signing. And he's on huge money too.

Be careful what you wish for. Last season's PL games would have knocked you out on away goals and you were better last season and we were worse.

We haven't had the 2nd PL game yet either so I'm not so sure 2 more derbies is what you really need.

German football is Englands beyatch. Are they now just a finishing school for our best youngsters?

Don’t realy agree with that, GT. When they won the treble they had no competition in the league. Juve have done well in the CL without competition in their league and the competition in prem hasn’t really helped our sides in the CL the last few years.

The last few seasons Bayern were out early in the CL. The gap to Europe's elite is getting bigger and bigger.

Bayern were not giving us an inch first twenty minutes, Mane’s finish with what was pretty much our first opening was world class.

Salah could have played him in earlier for 3-1, but great ball for Mane to head in.

All led by VVD from the back - this guy is just a fantastic footballer, definitely player of the year for the effect he has had on Liverpool.

Can be no argument about that really.

German football in crisis and you could see that at the WC.
