Not many words can describe how bad this first half has been by United.

If Idrissa Gueye's passing was better, he would be an absolutely phenomenal player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even then his ball winning is so good would make sense for top sides to invest in him

United's dressing room is back in the lost property box.

That’s been such a bad half from United , there’s literally been nothing about them.

If he was a few years younger, I think more top sides would look to snap him up, but he's gonna be 30 this year, which I think may stop some clubs from going for him.

I think PSG will put in another bid for him in the Summer though.

At the end of the day they gave a failed Cardiff manager a job, so may as well have Warnock in charge.

Think that's a bit harsh. Cardiff had lots of problems on and off the pitch before he took over, there wasn't much he could have done.

Time will tell whether their decision to appoint OGS was wrong or right, but to be fair to United, I don't know what else they were supposed to do.

They went for SAF's recommendation in Moyes, and that backfired.

Then they went for a very respectable manager in van Gaal, and the football was boring.

Then they went for Mourinho, who was still a successful manager, despite how his second stint at Chelsea went. Again, negative football and poor results.

So, after exhausting all those options, surely it then made sense to turn to someone who understands the fabric of the club? They also brought Mike Phelan back too, who was respected by everyone there.

What else were they supposed to do?

United should have gone all out for Poch. Glad they didn't though.

I think they would have done had OGS's first 12 games not gone as well as they did.

But yeah, that is one thing I feel they rushed into. There was no need to give OGS a contract when they did, so why not wait until the Summer at least? It would have given them time to assess their options better.

Bare in mind though a lot of the United fans wanted OGS signed up permanently.

I am so happy they gave Solksjaer a permanent deal. There was no need. If they had held off I doubt they would be offering him the job after the last few weeks

Should've waited until the end of the season to decide, but glad they didn't. Ole will be sacked by Christmas imo.

Should have gone for a more proven younger manager. Yes someone like Poch, or Emery. Neither LVG or Mourinho were ever going to be long term options.

That said, it still might work out for Ole.

United are too focused on losing to City to stop Liverpool winning the title, to get anything out of today's game.

The only manager who I think United fans would have been content with was Poch, but even then, a lot of them were clamouring for OGS to be given it.

It's unfair to judge OGS now though. A lot of the issues he's got have been inherited from previous managers. Let's see how he does this Summer. If United are still performing like this next season, then it will be clear that he was the wrong man.

A repeat of this performance will not be appreciated by match going United fans, who will be desperate to see them make amends on Wednesday.
This could actually work as a motivational boost if they continue to be mauled by Everton.🤔
