Still missed a couple of good chances on the counter to put the game to bed. Don't think tiredness was the issue. They were stunned by 2 quick-fire goals with so much time remaining and became nervous wrecks. They were complacent at the beginning of the 2nd half, stopped pressing and stopped tackling and stopped passing and surrendered the initiative completely. But still ridiculously sent everyone up on a set-piece and got caught on the counter. Was a real head-scratcher.

Crap happens.

Spurs did em big style when they got a sniff.

I can't get over just how naive Ajax were. To get caught up the pitch on a set-piece and concede a break-away goal when 3-0 up is some loony sheite. Then conceded another banter goal for Spurs' 2nd. I just knew that 3rd was coming.

Their fans were in a carnival atmosphere. Everything reeked of complacency. I feel sad for them as underdogs to lose in the last minute of injury time but they brought in on themselves.

Llorente gets a lot of stick, but he changed the game for Spurs. They went longer in the 2nd half (pretty much hoofball for much of it) and Llorente dominated the Ajax back-line in the air and the other Spurs forwards were feeding off him. It made it more difficult for Ajax to park the bus with the aerial threat of Llorente.

They outbottled the bottlers. Crazy stuff.

Mentioned on a previous thread, ticket allocations for the final are a joke.

both teams get official 16,500 tickets each. that's less than half of that arena capacity.

Upto the club how they split them of course but gutting that attendance at previous European finals counts for nothing (LFC obviously, only Sandy remembers the spurs kne)
