just because I have an opinion you disagree with doesn't mean it's not sensible
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very true. The fact you base that opinion on him appearing to you as a bit of a Wally surely limits it's value though!
United won the title last season (comfortably) with an absolutely dire midfield and a gluttony of attacking options.
We've got a decent midfield and 2 golden boot candidates (if fit over a season) in attack.
As BR says, if we can be there abouts with 10 games to go, we possibly have a chance. I just can't see us matching the consistency of the teams above us, and think we will have dropped off before then.
Of course you want to win every game but 4th should be the main target. A cup run would be nice too.
Yep, we can win the league. Consider this, city have dropped 3 points in the last 30.....yet, are only 5 points ahead of liverpool; doesn't that show lfc are consistent too?
Tbh I am tired of explaining why we can win it, so many reasons but the biggest is.....LOOK AT THE FKN TABLE....NOW LOOK AT THE MONTH WE ARE IN.....NOW FK OFF
LOOK AT THE FKN TABLE, you're 4th relying on 3 teams to have the wheels come off.
The 3 teams in question have all to play at Anfield so....

It's hardly relying on them to "have the wheels come off" just hoping for them all to drop a few points from now until the end of the season and LFC to put a good run together. LFC are not THAT far behind...
Where none of said teams lost last season so.....

The fact that none or those teams lost at Anfield last season is virtually irrelevant.
We are miles better than last season, especially at home.
We are 11 points better off than at the same stage last season, and have won every home game bar one.
Not saying we will win all three games, that's a big ask and unlikely, but to suggest we can't just because of last seasons results is a bit silly.
I didn't say you couldn't win them, I was using it to point out that it's not some massive advantage. You're still relying on 3 teams to falter, ok maybe not "wheels coming off", but relying on a quite a few slip ups as well as great form on your part.

Obviously we are reliant on slip ups, but obviously there will be slip ups. No team is going to win 17 games in a row from here on in.
No-one is arguing we are going to win the league here but to suggest we have no chance at all is clearly rubbish.
Generally speaking this season games between the top 7 have been won by the home team or drawn. I think Everton and Spurs winning at Man Utd and us winning at Spurs are the only big team away wins so far, so clearly home advantage does count for something.

And this has a bearing on this season how?
I find it strange that people keep mentioning our goals against a reason yet fail to mention we are the second highest goal scores. For example we can concede three goals and still win. We also have one of the highest goal differences which is perhaps more relevant than taking one single component of it.
Spurs are going to b itch-slap them all around Anfield, when the first team go up their, beating a 10 man Spurs reserve team in their cup final was hardly a test. Spurs can win at the champions ground, so going to a team that habitually finishines 7th is hardly a real test for the North Londoners.
Sandy brown must be the stains in your pants.

There is more chance of a martian landing in Liverpool, than Liverpool ever winning the prem. Fecking Everton will win it again before Liverpool. GB why do you always make a keeent of yourself.

Like you bítch slapped them at White Hart Lane?!
Kindly leave Sandy. This thread is for title challengers. Not joke clubs like Spurs.
I find it apt that Sandy shares his username with that of a footballer most fondly remembered in these parts for scoring an own goal in a Merseyside derby.
Doing a "Sandy Brown".
He's scored plenty of his own on here has our own Mr Brown.

Irony?
Just read through some of the comments here. Shocking stuff.
If Arsenal are title contenders, then so are Liverpool. For me it's that simple. They are only 3 points behind us and 5 points behind City. You simply cannot rule out any of the top 4 in a league in which a team can be top one day and then 3rd a few hours later.
Liverpool have an attacking threat that can rival any of the top clubs. They did a great job at the Etihad and barring a few extremely poor off-side decisions, could have conceivably won that game. Sure thing, they haven't won many games against the top sides, but have Arsenal?
The only issue with Liverpool is their defensive injuries, their Left back position, and probably that defensive midfield position. That, to me, is the only thing that will ultimately limit them (apart from City spending more £££ and pulling away) from being Champions come May.
Yes, sure, are they likely to be champions come May? Not really. But neither are Arsenal and probably not Chelsea.
However, as it stands, Liverpool are certainly title challengers. No question.
And as for £105m spending Spurs....
Not read all the replies but 15/2 seems short odds to me.
We would need EVERYTHING to go our way for that to happen. We would have to win all of our home games.
All of them.

That leaves Arsenal out then, there is more chance of two martians landing in the Holloway Road, than Arsenal winning any trophy, let alone the premiership. Deluded or what. Arsenal and trophies should never be mentioned in the same breath.
