one thing id say, could you see mata or ozil doing the mazy dribbles he does, like the one vs hull

Dribbles don't win games, it's not even a discussion.

anyway.. were mata and ozil as good as coutinho at 21?

Mata was, he was brilliant for Valencia in the 2008/9 season, and made his debut for Spain that year

As a Chelsea fan I love Mata and I know Ozil is quality but being aware of Coutinho since he was 15 when I saw him playing for Brazil with Neymar in a tournament in Europe, that lad is one in a billion.

Obviously Mata and Ozil are older, more developed and experienced but if talent alone is what the question is about, all I'll say is I haven't seen a player with that much flair and innate ability since Ronaldinho turned up at PSG/Barcelona.

I agree, he creates his chances well, just doesn't finish. see him getting ten to fifteen goals a season soon.

Truth, coutinho was as big as neymar back then apparently

Coutinho has the talent and the ability of being able to slide through the perfect through ball but I think he needs to improve his ability on when to do it. I read a stat that he has attempted the most through passes in Europes top 5 leagues which is an amazing stat..he just needs to hold back and pick the right moment to do it as a lot of the time we lose possession when he does that. As a creative player it's about finding the right balance imo which is slightly lacking. Combined with an improvement in his shooting and we will have some player.

Currently Silva is the best I would say. He kills the ball dead with his first touch and makes everything look so easy - a real joy to watch.

On their own, no they don't. Beating a man or two does tend to lead to overload situations; 3 on 2 etc. They essentially lead to good scoring situations. And they do win games.

To the OP point I'd probably say Mata - Ozil - Coutinho.

But Coutinho is young and as such inconsistent. He does have flashes of absolute brilliance though.

Mata does make control and passIng look effortless but Silva makes it look even easier, his poise and balance is magnificent.

I'd rate them in the following order:
Silva
Mata
Ozil
Coutinho

its 3 players at peak vs youngster

if coutinho adds goals to his game then he wins, but at the moment, that is the one part of his game that is lacking.
quality on the ball is just as good as the other two, but lacks their composure when in front of goal. younger though so to be expected

Ozil certainly was. He was winning the U21 Euros and playing for his country regularly.

Mata probably not but he is quality now.

yeah i thought about it just after i said it and realised he just got a move to madrid and mata to chelsea i think

In terms of value for money Coutinho wins without a shadow of a doubt.

In terms of best transfer Coutinho wins too. The manager saw how he fit into the team and we got him. Ozil and Mata were panic buys in my opinion by managers who were under pressure to make a big transfer. Neither Wenger nor Moyes really knows how to fit them into their team or get the best of either player. I know it's early for Mata but you can already see it. Moyes won't know how to get the best out of him.

In terms of best player- right now on form it's Coutinho. Overall it's probably Mata.
